A Herb's Advice To a Patient With Diabetes

A herb on 'Diabetes Day' in glee,
Addressed a man in talking spree

"Let's hear the story from me,
I have weathered the seasons you see

You can move and walk,
But Iam not free.

You can express & talk,
I can never be like thee.

Many medicines today you see,
Had their origins from me.

Be it wind or honey-bee,
We all work in harmony

Pay heed to lessons from me,
You can use parts of me.

In memory or wielding me,
Forget not drugs of thee

Helpful I can well be,
But at times tough enemy!

Whenever you think of me,
Consult the best of thee

Be mindful of quantity,
As well as quality.

What can the hazards be?
What drug interactions be?

At the service of humanity,
All the drugs, the herbs & me!

In future I hope to see,
Myself in the formulary.

We pray to the 'Healer of every malady',
From the world may 'Diabetes' flee".

'near Sinking Hearts I See You'

'Near sinking hearts I see You'

In the madding crowd, I see You.
When all alone,I see You.

After a guilt, I see You.
When I thank & pray,I see You.

In sunshine so bright, I see You.
In the night so dark,I see You.

In autumn and spring, I see You.
In deep sea & shore,I see You.

In clouds & rain, I see You.
In floods & hurricane, I see You.

In journey and home, I see You.
In company & solitude, I see You.

In failures & doom, I see You.
In victory & joys, I see You.

I revolt and disobey,but I see You.
Very far from You,but I see You.

When the child is born,I see You.
When someone is gone, I see You.

In 'spouses' smiles', I see You.
In 'son's grateful eyes',I see You.

Near sinking hearts, I see You.
In thankful souls, I see You.

In mother's heart, I see You.
In kindness to the old,I see You.

In crying with pain I see You.
In distress, in vain,I see You.

Beside me always I see You.
Whenever in need, I see You.

O God, there is none like You.
I err and astray, but I find You.

Hope--------

Hope.........

Hope,a child's longing for petty things.
Hope,a bird's strive for it's fledglings.

Hope,a poor-man's prayer when it's raining.
Hope, a man's wish for life when drowning.

Hope,a bedouin's search for the lost dromedary,
Hope,an old couple's wish to meet their progeny.

Hope,a dying woman's recluse in the after-life.
Hope, innocent desires of a kid's life.

Hope in God's mercy in everything good or bad.
Hope in God's will, when in joy or sad.

Hope of rain when it's hot as owen.
Hope of sun, when cold & frozen.

Hope,an everlasting sensation.
Hope, a rectifying sensation.

Hope gives life it's true meaning.
Hope enjoys, despair complaining.

Hope energizes today for tomorrow.
Hope is sowing seeds for reaping tomorrow .

Hope transcends from Here to Hereafter.
Hope corrects this life & life-after.

'the Year That's Gone'

The year that’s gone,
In the wink of an eye,
The sands of life have run,
How much in hand knows none?
Only wrongs that I have done?
Any deed that’s righteous one?
Have I lost or won?
Is there a reckoning or none?
Be it life, business, health or fun,
It’s ‘numbers’ that make up the ‘ton’.
Let bygone years be bygone,
Pay heed to the coming one.
We have lost many a dear-one,
In the heart they are ‘all in one’.
We can tread on their steps one by one,
No fear if we live & die for ‘One’
If we make ‘today’, the best one,
Tomorrow shall surely be won.

Hope Arising From Despair--------

When one is foundered in thoughts from every side,
When none seems to be on our side.

On either side when there is divide,
Surrounded by barriers of ego & pride.

Swimming in deep waters against the tide,
Is there a safe haven in this bumpy ride ?

But all clouds a silver lining hide,
All storms one day shall subside.

Can a child's innocence make our thoughts sublime ?
Can Grandma's oblivion, to God may guide ?

In those hearts God always reside,
That help others thru thought & stride.

The path is clear between the devil & deep sea,
In sorrow and joy,to His will if we abide.

Day after day & night after night.
With thankfullness & contentment all worries subside.

'immersed In the Ocean of Blessing'

Thoughts on World Diabetes Day(14th Nov.2018):

'Immersed in the ocean of Blessing'

Immersed in the ocean of blessing,

God's mercy all times encompassing.

Even then all times Iam complaining,

Petty things I never forgetting.

At the 'have-nots' Iam never looking,

My own self, I keep on prodding.

A young man on dialysis was running,

Our water-works are really fascinating!

With a white cane a lady was walking,

Eyesight is miracle, for all who are retaining !

Whose heart is aching and failing,

What a blessing this pump entailing !

On the above three as Iam pondering,

Each insult 'diabetes' was causing.

God always Iam thanking,

For the health & right path He's showing.

Diabetes always I'll be fighting,

The suffering I'll always be guiding.

Access To Diabetes Care: Wdd 2021:

In this era of Covid scare,
Where human interactions are so rare.
Much time on gadgets to spare,
Poor patients’ plight, no one to care.
Poverty, illiteracy & poor health care,
These issues need to be addressed fair & square.
Diabetes, a problem, leaving no organ to spare,
Asking for urgent, united efforts, so that ‘it gets rare’.
It’s the physician’s commitment, compassion & care.
That the patients feel at home & their worries are
no-where !
Screening for glucose control & if diabetes complications are there.
Giving them more time & attention, should be our everyday affair.
No matter, brittle is diabetes with many a sequelae out there ?
Folks with diabetes, need encouragement, confidence & optimal care.
There is always a silver lining in dark clouds everywhere.
To our patients we resolve, trying easy access to diabetes care.

On World Diabetes Day,2022

Diabetes is rampant here & there.
No organ in the body, does it spare.
All people with diabetes, we should scare,
About diabetes sequelae, without diabetes care.
And give glad tidings of normal life, with diabetes care.
With repeated lessons on diet, exercise & medication, prepare,
The patients’ minds & behaviour, for optimum diabetes care.
All nurses, educators and doctors in unison out there,
Should wage the war on diabetes, with no efforts to spare.
Even though with many faces,
Diabetes can stare,
With mustered spirits, technology & medications, it cannot dare.
Prevention, Remission & new Treatments, are there.
God-Willing, one day Diabetes shall be rare !
