Slavery

Once you name it,
it belongs to you.
You own it.
It can't be
unseen, unknown
It is you, you are
it, forever

A Toast To Love

A cup of rose wine
For those drunk with love
For a pure heart divine
That fell from above
A toast then, to blindness
And those who can see
A drink to her highness
The true charity…

Power of Light

We each have a light
Buried deep within us
A talent to control
A power we fear
But when we shine this light
Our true being is released
And for just one moment
Every light across the world
Flares up in celebration of the one
Who found their light
And understood its meaning

The Peasant-Boy's Paradise

Come! said the peasant-boy
To my golden temple
With spires of ice
Where glories entice
Even the noblest of men!

Come! said the peasant-boy
To my marble halls
With pillars of heights
And glittering lights
Kings and their courts would adore!

Come! said the peasant-boy
To the berth of dreams
Where musik ascends
To heavenly ends
A joyous Amen and Amen!

And I, with the peasant boy,
Stood, face-to-face
Whilst to my eyes,
Though monarch denies
—The Earth to my eyes he revealed

First Letter To First Love

Daughter of God and angel of life
blossoming rose in toils and strife—
Ethereal beauty, a dream of the kings
whose laughter the sweetness of innocence brings
A few words of token, my angel of light
A moment with thee, a future as bright
I love thee as much as the winds ever blew,
And oceans and mountains that man ever knew.
To thee is my love through the love of my Lord,
For my heart is open,
Thou plucked the chord.

Sparks

An empty eye
That fills with a flash
A spark of imagination
That turns to a candle
A flame that fills the soul
With grave determination
A single flame to start the fire
That burns the world away

A single flame

                 Just one candle

                                        And a spark of imagination . . .

Unaccustomed

How unaccustomed am I
To the touch of my own hand
on my face

How unaccustomed
To droplets on my skin
And playfully drenched hair
As I dance in the rain

Unaccustomed
To the light of a candle
The shapes of clouds
And fullness in a starry sky

How unaccustomed
To the fragrant scent
of homemade cookies;
the smell of home

How unaccustomed am I
To the chime of a tinkling bell,
My mother's voice

And the sight of my own reflection

Between the Lines

"hi," you say
           Our
"Hello," I reply
           Hearts
And yet,
           Belong
between the lines
           To
is an unwritten conversation
           One
which is not heard,
            Another
but understood
