Katy Lavasser Poem
The clock ticks on as I glance around the room
Just a kid being a kid you assume?
Wrong! I suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
“Grow up” they say and act your age
Medicine after medicine that make us zombies is all the rage
I can’t even sit still
So their solution? Give me a pill
I trapped in my own sea of thoughts that crash over me like a wave
They all scream “WHY DON'T YOU JUST BEHAVE”!
It isn’t that easy don't they realize?
Am I supposed to be quiet, prim, and proper like a little prize?!

Katy Lavasser Poem
As the sky grew grey
People in dismay
But the flowers screaming hooray hooray
Thunder grew violent
And the people went silent
Finally some peace and quiet
For I am dreary
And the sky eerie
The people are growing more and more weary
Clouds violently crying
Happiness slowly dying
People not wanting to be goodbying
Rain like tears
Thunder was your worst fear
People screaming "the end is near the end is near"
Thrashing
Slashing
Crashing
That was the end of all human life ever lasting

Katy Lavasser Poem
Scars aren't beautiful
They are permanent
Beauty isn't appearance
It is on the inside
Just because you wear black
Doesn't make you emo/goth
Your IQ
Doesn't define how smart you are it's just a number
Just because you are alone
Doesn't mean you are lonely
Just because you were glasses
Doesn't make you a nerd
Just because you are young
Doesn't mean you can't have an opinion
Just because you are smart
Doesn't mean you can't have friends
Just because you mess up
Doesn't make you stupid
Just because you were makeup
Doesn't mean you are fake or not pretty enough
YOU ARE PERFECT
IN EVERY WAY

Katy Lavasser Poem
If beauty is within what is on the outside?
Pondering about this is burning me up inside
Can someone answer me
Oh please Oh please Oh please Oh please

Katy Lavasser Poem
Ordinary men casted for war
Generals needed an army of more
Then the army could finally score
Swords raised high and heads held upright
Surely you know what happened that night
Some say it was a terrible sight
What caused this terrible product
Was actually a military conflict
The puzzle complete with every click
Soldiers were crying
Slowly Dying
And some even goodbying
Disease spreading everywhere
The soldiers needed care
But there was no one even there
Swords are clinging
Ears are ringing
From cannons sweetly singing
Bombs exploding
People eroding
And soldiers are hurting
Crops were crushed
Where soldiers were in a rush
Oh they were growing so lush
Soldiers were covered in red
And their hair looks like they came out of bed
They were also poorly fed
One gun shot
Equals a great cost
And caused so much money to be lost
So many people killed
I guess some people with a gun were skilled
Some people were not very thrilled
The fight started very small
But soon it turned into a huge brawl
The economy took a fall
Farmers were mad
All the crops went bad
Children were sad
Everything was damaged
Children were famished
They had vanished
Bombs left grass black
Fields were attacked
People who were alive came back
Children cried
Because their father died
Mothers held them tight
Farmers were dead
Which meant trouble ahead
Oh how were children going to be fed
The economy came crashing down
With hardly any food around
How are people going to live in this small small town
Everywhere was affected
The crops looked neglected
Everything that happened was expected
People built back everything strong
Surely it would hold up long
Boy were they wrong
Life returned normal again
That was finally the end

Katy Lavasser Poem
The midnight sea
Consuming me
I can not break free
The dark blue waters
Make my mind wander
And I sit there and ponder
The boats on the sea are too small
Compared to the lighthouse that stands so tall
The cool ocean breeze
Does not ever cease
As I look up at the midnight starry sky
I hear the boats ringing cry

Katy Lavasser Poem
The birds and the bees
The grass and the trees
The smell of the flowers
The cool April showers
The pitter patter of the rain on the glass
The sun in the sky trying to surpass
A girl in a floral dress
And a boy grabs a flower trying to impress
The sky full of fluffy white clouds
The sun beams loud and proud
Jackets neatly tucked away
Now that spring is here to stay
Kids running outside
Trying to find a place to hide
Some always quickly found
So they yell "lets play another round"
That is why spring is in the air
And that is why I care

Katy Lavasser Poem
For the people in Florida may they rest in peace
And I hope the gun violence will cease
Innocent people killed
Within my heart they fill
My heart goes out to families in need
May the stress on them be freed
For the people who died their names are honored
For the people lives that were mad e harder
May they all rejoice today
For Florida I do pray
This goes for all shootings
I hope this poem was very moving

Katy Lavasser Poem
The thought consumes me “Don’t eat” you’ll just get fat
All I want is for my stomach to be flat
Is that too much to ask?
So what if I don't want to eat? It just feels like a task
But I’m not one of those people who binge…
When I look into the mirror I cringe
I hate what I see
My reflection staring back at me
People say “you are already skinny”
I sit there and I cry
Im spoon fed lies
Screaming at myself “WHY” “WHY” “WHY”
Why am I like this
I feel better with every meal I miss
Filled with pure bliss
As I watch the numbers on the scale drop
I know it's wrong but I just can't stop…

Katy Lavasser Poem
Golden blonde hair
Her skin fair
Her crystal blue eyes
Could make the oceans cry
Her teeth as white as a shiny pearl
Oh how I wish I could be that girl
She was kind and nice
And she never made the same mistake twice
Oh how I wish i could be that girl
