Ellen Waters Poem
I mourn for my sailor, lost at sea
I offer up hope, recite every plea
the shore was vast and my heart alone
drowned in the tides, a sinking stone
I walked for hours of infinite torture
a mess of grief yet an innocent mourner
scattering tears and wailing songs
who will now try to right my wrongs
remembering peace, longing for mercy
a love story’s end, the final journey
at night I dream of fallow seas
my love so blue and tangled in reeds
battered ships adrift on the swells
scattered bones among the shells
rocking in time with the tides and the moon
my lost sailor wanders the dune
searching for treasures, forever at sea
he was my soul, I will never be free
forever adrift, forever apart
forever my love, forever my heart.

Ellen Waters Poem
while you wondered, to be or not to be
I already knew my truth
to walk this world alone, my love
confused and mad with grief
water it calls to me, I ask
how deep do I drown my sorrows
for a man who never loved me
never wiped my tears, never held my hand
I knew my fate before anyone
to drift on endless tides tangled in the reeds
call me Ophelia once more, my love
I will hear you as I die

Ellen Waters Poem
lying in bed watching the storm…
hold my hand, break my heart
quiet my soul, touch me there
wild rain will consume us
ignite my passion, rest my voices
soooth the bruises, slip inside me
flashes of light fill the room
capture my breath, wrestle my tongue
touch my burning skin, heal our pain
the wind caresses the trees
scream my name, ease the fever
crash my hope, choke my heart
the storm has passed
