Paul Williams Iii Poem
I guess I'm just the rebound
The ball bouncing off the rim
The man that you caught when you didn't get him
You got out of love and got back in
You think you have an advantage
But you're in this relationship with so much baggage
Its hard for us to get close
Because of your former attachment
Expecting me to put you back together after he left your heart in fragments
Man theres so much damage
As of right now I can't forsee a marriage
Some think another relationship can heal the pains of the former
But until you're whole again you can't go forward
What he did, what he didn't do takes you away from what I'm doing and done
Its like I'm dating two people and he is keeping us from being one
So I guess I'm just that ball bouncing off the rim
The one you're with now while still trying to get over him

Paul Williams Iii Poem
Woke up vanilla sky as I opened my eyes
I'm puzzled what is my mother doing by my side?
Hospital room how did I arrive?
Later when told how I got there, I'm wondering how did I survive?
Gotta be the grace of God I'm just thankful to be alive
A whole new appreciation for life as been revived
Caused by an accident I wish I could turn back the hands of time
But I probabily never would've been provoked to write and rhyme
An accident to us but to God no surprise
We thankful for the ordained blessings but what happens when He sends
ordained stressings?
The same one who allows good also allows the bad
These two ingredients mixed, make a perfect plan
Like death and life
Old and young
Rich and poor
All these are for sure
You try to make sense of it but its all obscure
To lean own your own understanding is the allure
But to remain faithful to Him is a chore
When you are subjected to circumstances you would love to hate
Like what happened to my brother and my face
Thankful for his life but hurt by his exit
And now I'm asking God whats the message?
I'm having trouble understanding my present
Cause I felt he was too young to exit
You knew it all from beginning to end and one day we will meet again

Paul Williams Iii Poem
When no one else cared He did
When everyone spoke death He said "live"
When everyone's love was inconsistent
His was constant
When the weapons were formed against me they didn't prosper cause He
stopped them
He stayed awake watching over me while I slept
With His all seeing eye He has guided every step
He never runs out of patience and His mercy endures
If you are feeling rejected and abandoned His love is the cure
It heals the abused and comforts the accused
Perfect God for the imperfect
Its those He will use
I'm privaledged that I'm your son
That I'm one you'll chose
To describe the feelings I've run out of words to choose
Because when I go through them all
None can describe You
Gratitude and a dedicated life I give
You gave Your life so this life I live
Pursuing Your likeness through life's crisis and stormy days
I want to give up sometime but You are constantly making ways

Paul Williams Iii Poem
You can gargel peanut butter
And slam a revolving door
You were born with a beard
And at the age of two drunk your first beer
And afterward crushed the can on your head
You never run thats why you are Walker Texas Ranger
You help old ladies across the street and tell children not to talk to strangers
When you play monopoly
It affects the whole world's economy
And your biggest secret is Too-Wong-Fu is your favorite comedy
You don't have any microwaves in your home because you believe revenge is a
dish best served cold
And if all that isn't enough
You beat connect 4 with one move
Ate a bottle of sleeping pills and just blinked
Chuck Norris you are amazing

Paul Williams Iii Poem
In the movie Denzel said Bumpy Johnson was just as important as Martin Luther
King
"Meditate"
Think about what that statement really means
American Gangsters are idolized as Kings
And what Martin said is just a dream
Unfulfilled
Because to the child of the ghetto its not real
Hustlas admired while customers dispised
To acquire clothes, cars, and women is the drive
American Gangter is how the youth want their lives defined
But every gangter isn't a Frank Lucas and survives
Some are locked up and doing time
While others were victims of homicide
Either way someone loss a relative and the family cried
Old hustlas say they had to do it
But that doesn't have to be our reality
We don't have to do it
Its a new day, new time
I know we still have the same crime
But lets approach life with a different mind and not admire the success behind
the crime
Cause in the end most got played
Because none of the gangsters took any of their possessions to their graves
Did they really have it made?
If Richie Porter, Karlton Hines, and Felix Mitchell could talk
I wonder what would they have to say?
They would probabily say "Follow Martin's dream of peace and equal rights
And seek to make money legally because making money illegally isn't worth
giving up your rights.
The fast life is fast and you can't keep up
And don't worry about earthly possessions you can't keep that stuff
So for money don't sell your soul
Cause no matter how much you acquire you can't fill that hole
I wish we would've known all that before they dug our hole
Then maybe we wouldn't have sold our soul
But for y'all youth there is a better way
y'all can live a life a better way
And if you don't listen to nothing else, please listen to what we say
In the end crime really doesn't pay."
Thats what the dead gangsters would say
Crime doesn't pay
Thats what they would say

Paul Williams Iii Poem
Crack on my corner but its grown overseas
Grown in South America and made from cocca leaves
From overseas to the corner from the corner to my house
momma using daddy using when will he get out?
He stuck around for years and showed me what he was all about
He gave me a history lesson as we sat on my couch
I asked him, how many other homes did he invade? He said "far too many to
even count"
Then I asked him, how much is made off of you? He said "a large amount"
Then he went on to say he was sponsored by political clout
And its because the Regan Administration had an agenda to fight a cause that
made us look like losers instead of winners
All because he despised the Nicaraguan group Sandinistas
Because they were not built on capitalism but instead had socialist features
And supported guerrillas in El Salvador
So on Nov 23 1981 they initiated war
It was secret and such
a covert operation
The public didn't know that much
The CIA recruited contras that were trained and funded by us at around 19 million
thats hush
Aid was interrupted by the Boland Amendment that forbid action by U.S. agencies
funding the cause
So Regan and his administration pulled down their draws and pissed on the
laws
And started acquiring funds from trading guns thats firing
Funds from the drug trade was supplying them
And now we got kilos of coke thats flying in
Distrubted to the dealers, they cook crack your parents buying them
It started an epidemic to fund a cause
And now the ball is rolling
There is no pause
So I pause
You could get mad at the dealers but cocca leaves don't grow in L.A.
And you could get mad at the crips for shooting bloods but you have to wonder
"Where did they get those Ak's"
There are dealers,behind the dealer
Shooters behind the shooter
In your house you see two addicts but there is a bigger supplier supporting the
users

Paul Williams Iii Poem
I awakened in hell
When I opened my eyes
While consumed in an inferno of flames
I felt cold
I'm wondering why ?
Could it be because I remained dead while I was alive?
Or could it be because I didn't make the most important decision before I died?
I can recall when I was on the other side
I was consumed with pride and thought I had arrived
But in the lake of fire is where I arrived
Its the humble God accepts and the prideful He rejects
If I could turn back the hands of time it would be You I would accept
Your word you kept
You're real and not fake
Failure to make one decision
Determined my eternal fate

Paul Williams Iii Poem
You try to sustain a friendship based on the connection
y'all shared in the past
But overtime y'all grow apart because you're not on the
same path
The price of success is tricky you do the math
It involves some subtraction,some addition,multiplication
dividing in half
The same one you use to sit up with and laugh
Now becomes jealous of your blessings
they become mad
They see the glory, don't know the story or the obstacles
and challenges that were placed before me
no better love than a man lay down his life for his friends
But what happens when you make it to the top of the mountain
and lost them
To sleep better at night I say its just life
And you can't prevent break-ups no matter how hard you fight
Some say I'm wrong
Some say I'm right
But I just came to shed some light
On friends and seasons
Some are temporary
Some are permanent and you need them
Some walk in and out of your life only as long as you feed them
The same ones you use to hang with
Now become the ones you don't eat with
Friends become strangers
Comfort becomes danger
Love turns to anger
You use to say "hi" now its the finger
Little quarrels turn to bigger beef now its major
These are just excerpts from my pages
And I guess life is just full of changes

Paul Williams Iii Poem
The muslims say assalaam alaikum
The jews say shalom
But there isn't any peace in the home
My grandmother just called the police on the neighbors across the street cause
they don't get along
She thinks they are selling that "cane"
And since they moved in, the neighborhood hasn't been the same
When you angry with life you need someone to blame
And when you hurt in life you want anesthesia for the pain
When bad days turn to months and then turn to years
Sometimes you are crying inside and no body sees the tears
So much is going on people don't see
But beyond that I got something I to teach
About whatever you sow "that" you will truly reap
Now I know I ain't talkin to farmers but I know y'all some people that know about
Karma
Like when my boi Matt didn't pay his tithes and his car wouldn't start up
And He had to start catching that marta
He thought he was smarta
But God proved to be smarta
If you play hard with Him
He'll play harder
And if you got a seed, a little boi or daughter
Make sure you tell'em you love'em and give'em that water
Man! We need some fathers
But ain't no body fathering fathers
So we got a generation thats caught up
In retail and tearing the mall up
And little girls growing up looking for ballers
The fertilizer of pop-culture and the hood is mass producing a generation of
Shoulds and coulds
Should be better, They could be better
If they would pursue character than that cheddar
But it starts in the home and the home starts in us
If we can't confide in our parents then who can we trust
Train a child, raise a child in the way they should go
And when they're old they'll be sure not to depart
Because of that seed you placed in they're heart
Plant a seed in your seed
And watch the fruit
Whatever is placed in them is what they'll produce

Paul Williams Iii Poem
When you're walking in darkness its hard to see light
Equally as hard to do right
When your sight is distorted...Wrong seems right
and when doing wrong in the darkness you abhor light
In love with the night
Perferring the unholy, instead of receiving the Christ
Am I blind?
No, just walking where there is no sun,but not where the Son can't reach
Joy in the darkness cause it seems secret, hiding from God hoping He doesn't see it
Creeping
Creeping
Not Seeing as I should
Creeping
Creeping
Not doing good at all, while things seem good
Hiding from the sun, hiding from the Son
the truth, the real, and embracing the fake
Rejecting the Light is the biggest mistake and....
Perferring Darkness
