Sparks of Hope

hope is going on, even if not knowing where
hope is running on, even if not knowing why
hope is loving on, even if not knowing whom
hope is living on, even if not knowing what for.

hope is when you smile not knowing why,
hope is when you think bad times can go by,
hope is when you want to see the light
hope is morning after night.

hope is stumbling, but stand up again
hope is falling, but then getting up
hope is stopping, but going on
hope is dawning, but then rising high.

hope is when the night is cold
hope is when you're feeling old
hope is when you grit your teeth
hope is maybe beneath.

hope is the hand that helps you getting up
hope is the one asking you „What's going on?“
hope is the one who gives you a hug
hope is when you realize that you are not alone.

hope is going on, even if the way is long
hope is running on, knowing, you are strong
hope is loving on, even if this can ail
hope is living on, even if you fail.

hope whatever you do.
hope is what I wish
you.

Lullaby - For My Brother

sleep well, my little child, sleep without sorrow
look to the stars, don't fear the shade
maybe tonight will bring a new tomorrow
but sleep, my child, don't be afraid

sleep well, my little child, and dream
dream of hope and love and grace
times are better than they seem
on day, the world will be a better place

sleep well, my little child, sleep without fear
i hold your hand and watch your sleep tonight
i will be near i will stay here
until the morning's light

sleep well, my little child, don't be afraid, i'll stay
until moon goes to bed and sun brings a new day.

Saxophone Days

skyscrapers are growing
bored into the sky
people are still going
without knowing why

streets are looking grey
as usual full of waste
we all are on the way
and feel somehow misplaced

world is loud and day is long
the city doesn't care
but suddenly i hear a song
and music fills the air

a man is standing there aside
and seems to feel alone
the place gets free the sky gets wide
and opens for the sounds of his saxophone

skyscrapers are growing streets are still grey
and between the man the sax and their melody
pressure and hurry seem far away
and all at once i feel free.

:-)

Nightmare

i try to sleep but hear my sister crying
and i can't help because i don't have hope
i hear them shooting peace again is dying
and life is rather horror than daily soap

i try to sleep but i am filled with hunger
for food and freedom future and for fun
but every night it seems that i grow younger
and every night i listen to the gun

i try to sleep but can not dream away
i feel alone i'm longing for tomorrow
but there's no morning sun the night will stay
with fear and harm and grief and sorrow

i cannot sleep despair of life is all i feel
tonight i dreamt reality was real

Well-Known News

it's evening another day has gone
another day of war and harm and fear
some suffer but our closing time goes on
they have no food and we stay drinking beer

it's evening we sit and watch tv
here's peace and wealth poverty there
but we are still pretending we don't see
the world burns on and we don't care

it's evening and everything like anytime
some suffer some get rich and some will die
and our ignorance again commits a crime
we're turning up the sound so we don't hear them cry

it's evening the night is filled with sorrow
today was party - what will be tomorrow?

Remember

i remember the times when i was a child
remember like yesterday
i was happy and cheeky and free and wild
those times are far away

i remember the dreams i dreamt all the time
the future was full of surprises
but the future got past and full of grime
just the sum of broken promises

i remember the life i wanted to live
today, it's light years away
i can only wait what the future will give
can do nothing but hope and stay

my life was work, now it is sorrow
i realized: dreams don't wait for tomorrow.

At the End of the Day

i am tired
the day was long
and i did
nothing
nothing from the things
i had to do

i am happy
the day was full
and i did
a lot
a lot of the things
i liked to do

i am tired
the day was good
cause i did
i have done
what made me
happy

Sleepless

i'm waiting waiting night for night
feeling the darkness missing light
i'm waiting mournful waiting sad
why should i go to bed

i'm waiting waiting day for day
but fear and grief won't go away
the moon is laughing and i cry
and hope night will go by

i'm waiting waiting all the time
between the words behind the rhyme
the fear in me gets more and more
i'm waiting and know not what for

i wait and watch time going by
and throw my words into the sky

Night Song

i cannot sleep dark is the night
i'm tired and alone
without love and hope and light
there's nothing left but moan

i cannot sleep and i'm afraid
not knowing what will be
i'm tired and the day is late
night grows beyond the sea

night is coming with thousand dreams
and life is better than it seems
not that dark and deep

stars are falling and i cry
fear grows up and fear goes by
and i fall asleep.

Poems By Night

i sit night around me
waiting
not knowing
what for

i sit sky above me
writing
not knowing
why

i sit
words are falling
like falling stars
one after one
falls on the paper
lying in front of me
white like the moon

i sit
stars are falling
like falling words
one after one
falls on the earth
lying in front of me
black like the night

i sit sky above me
looking
not knowing
wonders

i sit night around me
looking and wondering
'cause the sky
writes poems

every night
