A Trains Life

The train engine roars, out across the plains.

Nothing in it’s way, don’t pull on the reins.

Its gotta make time, before it reaches the valley.

Now it sounds depressed, as it tries to rally.

Working hard, to make the peak.

It stresses and chugs, as it climbs so steep.

Down the grade, with a big ol’ smile.

Soon will come, another hard mile.

As the engine comes, out of another grade and turn.

For the flat and straight, it always yearns.

Now at the yard, It gets some rest.

Before another trip, down life’s test.

Daily Grind

Get up early, to get the day started.

Pray to Jesus, for a productive and safe day.

Fill up with gas, and put the water on ice.

Keep my eyes open, as I roll down the road.

Arrive at the worksite, let the work begin.

When the work is complete, it’s back on the road.

Rollin’ down the highway, to the hotel once again.

Time for some supper, and daily reports.

Miss the family, this is the worst part.

Get cleaned up, and off to bed.

Tomorrow will bring, the daily grind again.

Crazy One

Why do I have to talk to these strangers, when I’m not the crazy one.

Talk to them it will help you, they say.

You talk to them it will help you, I say.

My problem is with you, not with them.

Thinking about these meetings, only angers me.

This talking only pisses me off, each and every time.

There’s too many years passed by, I’m ready to move on.

Maybe we should call it quits, and let it be done.

This talking to strangers, is a way to blame me.

There’s a need to evaluate, who’s the crazy one.
