John Bowers Poem
Wow! I cannot believe everything is gone;
Like innocent preludes of childhood
Nestled in a spirit of leisure,
Or a teachers pet dropping off an apple.
Sometimes I get sick and tired remembering
Them good and bad old times. Those days
Where freedom from responsibility spangled,
Into a clear, deep sea of ignorance.
What diabolical person needs my space?
Confirmational bragging rights
Explains that nobody is really somebody.
But does anybody truly pay attention?
Confusion is going up and down my spine
A dying breed emerges unscathed
I've lost the arks magnificent powers
To reconcile the when and how.

John Bowers Poem
I shall never fall for that fiction again
The Bible tells us perilous times have come
Great myths of love can make one dumb
I shall be hurt clear to the end
Take and take is the anthem I've heard
Unthankful for efforts of the heart
As an animal eager to go and part
Emotionless and vain as I plainly stood
Hostility is on the constant prowl
Eliminating that once existing word
Making sharp cuts in the bonding cord
Until this victim throws in the towel
I shall never fall for that fiction again
Because the truth faithfully hurts
And our time together is forever short
It had ended, but I never knew when
