Math

The numbers fly in, and out
and many more left, to fly about !

First, it was addition, then Subtraction
and now to Calculus and trigonometry!

Of course, I was stuck sometimes
but I've never given up!

Some take hours to solve
and some are done in a snap!

Math, I would say is in every way
witty and amusing

It's used in every sphere of life
never will there be an end!

There are never enough questions and
even better concepts evolve day after day

It's a subject like no other, and ...

The numbers fly in and out
and many more left to fly about !!

My Fruit Bowl

I sit at the kitchen table lost in thought
thinking of the people I have met
All different in their own way
Unique, isn't a strong enough word and nothing else seems to fit

My eyes suddenly fall on my fruit bowl
A wonderful sight of course
standing in the middle of my table

The hard and crunchy apples
that wouldn't mind a fall

The soft and gooey bananas
that aren't given much care

The tangy and juicy oranges
We never know if they'll be sweet or sour

Sweet and Sour, hard and crunchy, soft and gooey
The people I have met today are no different from my fruit bowl.

My Alarm Clock

I lay down for the night,
staring at the night sky
holding my blanket tight!
Slowly, all the hubbub of the city
starts fading away, and
I settle in for a good night's sleep!

Then comes that boisterous noise which
ruins my sleep, and makes me stand on my feet!

If it weren't for those hands ticking away
I would have enjoyed the rest of my sleep!

Then comes the time I have to go to school, and
as usual I almost missed my bus!
The school bell starts ringing, and
the teacher tries to make herself heard
over the pandemonium residing in our class.

The last bell of the day rings, and
everyone scrambles out of school!

But were it not for the clangorous
of my alarm clock,
I might not have a spent a day
how I have done, today!!!!

Sugarcane

The lusciousness drips into my mouth, and
how I wish I could engulf it forever
It looks like the dirty rags of a beggar from outside, but
it has the sweetest heart, you could ever imagine!!

I can't believe it has taken me so many years to realize its true identity.
If only I had been brave enough to try it before
I would have imbibed much more!

Would you have ever thought of it to be so sweet and sticky when
it is so rigid and callous from the outside
It teaches a lesson we should never forget
and moreover never leave behind!

The lusciousness drips into my mouth, and
how I wish I could engulf it forever
It looks like the dirty rags of a beggar from outside, but
It has the sweetest heart, you could ever imagine!!

Cyclone

It turns the world upside down
and the citizens are left alone with a frown

The devastated and barren lands
look at us with empty hands

The winds which shook the trees
and made everyone at sea freeze

The cyclone starts to retreat
and the birds begin to tweet

Those who have survived
Can not wait to be revived

If we try our best
Then they will surely be at rest!

I Shall Not Change

I am myself
I shall not change

Question my thoughts
I shall not change

Judge me
 I shall not change

Laugh at me
I shall not change

Spread rumours about me
I shall not change

Mimic me
I shall not change

envy me
I shall not change

As long as I do what’s right
I shall not change.

Global Warming

You scoundrals! You heat me up and let me boil!
Why do you do so when I do so much!
You have no heart or a soul, to let your home boil over!
If, you were to stand where I am standing.
I wonder how long you would sober!
I have no strength to live any longer, so
HELP ME NOW or HELP ME NEVER!!

Life

I walk down the winding road
Without finding my final destination
Hiding behind the bushes!
Where is your path?
Well no matter whom you are
your path is a never ending lane of wrongs and rights,
happiness and sadness
A person who is perfect has no life at all
Most wish that they could maintain a clean windowpane
without a scratch or a blotch.
I walk down the winding road
Without finding my final destination
Hiding behind the bushes!
