Relief

No one truly knows,
The demon residing within.
I keep it locked far below,
Inside my hearts secret bin.

With night, the pain descends,
Sucking air away from me.
Vigorously myself I defend,
From it, unable to break free.

It takes me down,
Throwing its noose around me.
Collapsing to the ground,
Anguish, is all I now see.

I take a shallow breath,
Finding myself debating.
Entertaining dreams of death,
Longing for life's fading.

How can one live,
When all love has fled?
Nothing left to give,
Darkness fills my head.

If tomorrow never arrives,
A welcome relief it will be.
No longer able to survive,
At least then I'll be free.

It's a terrible end,
To a life once full.
No longer can I defend,
This world that's so cruel.

Sarlacc 13

Poor unfortunate fools,
Oppression infects all those here,
In this haunted,  soulless pit;
With strife….and heavy despair.
Sadness hangs,
Mixed with abandonment and fear.
Away from me,
Depleting all my surrounding air.
This pain inside my heart,
It's relentless in devouring
My pathetic, aching soul.
My spirit is broken.
Where love once was,
Now, just a gaping hole.
The weight of life's betrayals,
A gravity far too intense.
I'll never break free….
That, I truly now sense.
I search wildly,
For that once familiar hand
To lead me, guide me,
Thru this unforgiving lair.
I reach out, frantically grasping;
Only to clutch nothing,
Nothing…..
But cold, damp air.
These walls are closing in.
It's chilling, suffocating;
Quietly I whisper,
Please, just let me die.
Fear of being held longer,
plagued with a broken mind.
I cannot, must not,
Let them see me cry.
Searching, Seeking.
Even the smallest of relief.
Begging, Praying.
Tonight's battle please be brief.
The black mist is coming.
Toward my inner safehouse,
I now begin to crawl.
Darkness catches me,
Too late….
I begin my nightly fall.

Deliverance

The battle ensues,
In my mind it ebbs and flows.
Life mockingly,
Delivers unrelenting blows.
Natural inclinations,
Fuel my will to live.
For this heart of mine,
Has so much to offer,
So much to give.
Unwillingly, a stranger;
An enigma I have become.
Friendship and love, from me,
So many have pulled away from.
Mirrors reflect back,
Images I no longer know.
My heart turned to rock,
Yet seeds of hope upon it,
I continue to wishfully throw.
Hoping for only one,
Just one, finally to take root
and grow.
Confident, undoubting,
I always knew my heart
the way to lead.
Unsure, scared,
Only self-doubt,  my mind
now seems to feed.
Waves of various emotions,
Flood my brain each and every night.
For those who love me,
For mom;
I will continue this
Fearsome fight.
Visions of joy again,
Fleetingly reveal sparks of light.
For darkness will not win;
Not today,
No, not this time tonight.

Moonhowl

The sun sets so quietly,
it’s warmth slowly disappears.
Loud howling awakens the moon,
As it’s glow reveals all your fears.
Thoughts cloud over you,
Smothering happiness of the day.
Night revealing all the creatures,
Who upon you begin to prey.
The darkness begins to swallow,
All that which you thought home.
Loneliness soon takes over,
your heart will endlessly roam.
Nature, one of the greatest cures,
can replenish your weary soul.
Or just a relentless curse,
Reminders of life’s endless toll.
Yet I raise my eyes toward you,
And howl your endless song.
For out here in the wild,
I simply cannot do any wrong.

Jenilee

Your spirit only known,
For just a short time.
Exuding with a uniqueness,
Your essence is sublime.

I watch you from a distance,
Mesmerized in a trance.
Giving up with no resistance,
My soul wanting to dance.

I watch you from near,
Wondering what you feel.
With a glance and long peer,
A gaze wishing to steal.

Are you a cruel lie?
Or just a fantasy unseen?
Behind those hypnotic eyes,
Emanates radiant beams.

I wish to know you,
From the inside out.
Is your heart blue?
Does your mind roam about?

What fears make you scream?
What angers you to shout?
What joys help you to dream?
What inspires you to let it all out.

I hide behind a screen,
Speaking freely how I feel.
More comfortable unseen,
Sharing thoughts that are real.

I know in my heart,
What words I want to say.
But amongst your presence,
They up and run away.
