Frozen Forest

Within a clearing I stand at the
Forests dusk.
White snow blankets the ground, and the trees so tall
They touch the sky.
One step after the last , traversing the misty slow
Through the frozen forest.
But as I move the weather does too.
Changing form from soft snow-flakes
Into lashing daggers.
Vision shrouded by the beating wings of the blizzard.
Yet I have to remain calm… still.
Breathing slowly, Slower.
I can hear it…
Ba-dum… Ba-dum… Ba-dum…
Cold, so cold, frozen.
Yet the coldness of the forest
Can never overcome the warmth
Of my beating heart.
