Love From a Distance

We may be miles apart
But you always linger in my heart
Challenges may come at times
That weaken our mind and heart sometimes
But our faith in God will pave the way
For real love to grow more each day
So no matter the distance, no matter the odds
If we have the Lord who lights our paths
We will always remember
The love we built and shared together

My Spiritual Strength

When I embraced my Christianity
It brought me closer to serenity
God has been the best friend I ever have
And I can depend on Him and His love

I found in this life a much clearer light
For God made my existence all things bright
He gave me the love of a family
That I will treasure for eternity

As I walk over joyous and sore times
I can feel His divine presence at times
Lifting me up and guiding me at length
Giving me hope and spiritual strength

I hope that I will know more of Him still
And to live life according to His will

Lost and Found

In a world of folly I was lost
Material yearnings caved in on me
Succumbed to a life worn out in the frost
Oblivious to what outcome may be

Blinded by emotions that felt quite right
Yet something seemed missing inside
The pathway appeared sank from sight
In my heart, emptiness slowly reside

It took some time before I awaken
Looking round to find a familiar face
There He stood, never was I forsaken
Upon me, a strange quietude He placed

In search of direction, my spirit roam
With you my Lord, I found back my home

Red Rose

'Twas early morning on Valentine’s day
A lone red rose I found on my table
From a man who swept my sadness away
And softened my heart as he is able

As I go to work daily through the years
This rose kept on display I always see
It remains whole and firm as it appears
A silent witness how love came to be

Like the unwavering buds of the rose
My love for you has stood the test of time
While the red rose may wither as time goes
The mem’ries it hold can last a lifetime

A Poet, a Hero

A time when only a few dared to fight
against a foreign tyrant,
A Poet rose to speak

Oppressions suffered by Filipinos
in his writings, he revealed
A Poet with no fear

Freedom he sought through his powerful pen
Killed for his words and beliefs
A Poet noble act

“Mi Ultimo Adios”, his final notes
left a mark and legacy
A Poet, a Hero

Emotions In Motion

Drifting
aimlessly on
a turbulent ocean
as waves of emotions set in
motion.

Confront
fear in your mind
and gather much strength to
rid disgust and anger in your
notion.

Sadness
need not thrive for
life’s surprises abound
and trust that your pursuit of joy
be found.

Bell of Hope

Bell of Hope Bell of hope keeps on ringing, giving a sense of new beginning. As the gentle sound gradually resonates through the air, it brings a thud of hope to all who could hear.

Rice Field

Under the scorching sun I thirst for rain
As the summer heat cracks open my skin
For that scarce water I waited in vain
Leaving me too weak and dried up within

Gone is my greenery without monsoon
As the long dry season makes me too gloom
How I yearn for the rain to come out soon
To give source of life to my dying womb

Pillow

In the stillness of day I stoutly wait
With cool breeze sending shiver down my spine
The thought of you warms my idle figure
As nightfall approaches with much fervor

Such a delight when your arms reach me out
And pin me close to your body at night
Listening closely to your heart’s desire
Your thoughts so vivid as you clutch me tight

Night-time rejoices when you jump for joy
Your bubbly smile makes me feel so alive
But gloomy at times when your heart cries out
Pour out all your tears and I’ll wipe it dry

Your fears I feel of what is yet to come
Ease your mind on the softness of my touch
As I cradle your body in comfort
A good rest and sleep will be yours tonight
