Oceanic Mistress

Oceanic Mistress

You are enticing, you are alluring
You are my mistress
I walk your soft shores today, feeling your calmness and serenity
You gently caress me with the lapping of your warm waves
I am at one with you, and one with nature

But I am wary and respectful of your unbridled power, so easily unleashed
Dare to venture into misguided waters and your hidden, dark and menacing tide, could rip me and drag me beneath.
Suffering Poseidon’s fury, smashed into the dark abyss

This is your world, your domain since time immemorial
Neither conquered or controlled by any force or entity
You give life and nurture existence, but spare no grace when you take them away

It’s Man’s greatest folly thinking we can subdue you
You are the one who has tamed us, and, in the passing of a heartbeat, our co-existence will end forever
Humanity will disappear, yet the all-powerful oceanic mistress and her tidal beauty will remain.

Autumn Fall

Autumn Fall

Jack Frost is waiting to weave his mischievous magic

Amongst the changing flora lays an endless carpet of vibrant purple heather, its sweet note sings in the cool air

Brown and yellow paint flecks adorn the smallest leaves

Multi-coloured toadstools and mushrooms spark vivid memories of magical childhood dreams

Pixies and fairies will soon come out to play!

Autumn fall nights come alive with a waltz of neon blue and red

Tiny creatures play impish games in their nocturnal fungal playground

Olive, lime, emerald colours paint the forest floor in vibrant shades of green

I walk bare footed, feeling the cool moist spring of moss massaging my soul

The air is damp and chilled, full of the familiar scent of the Earth’s musty aroma

Birds sing, piping a Highland symphony welcoming another seasonal chapter

I feel so alive, ready to embrace more of nature’s ever changing breathtaking wonders.

New Beginnings

New Beginnings

Life has lost its meaning, now that you’re not here
Shaping and moulding our family existence with your energy and light,
The all-embracing structure that recently stood so strong and indestructible, now seemingly tumbling into dust
Day by day we exist on the perpetual edge of a life path, clouded in uncertainty, without direction
Incomplete, melancholy and listless days pass, waiting for you
Distant memories of lost opportunities to feel complete, fade like trickles of water under an ancient bridge
You are the here and now
Together we are the future
Never, we will forget and thank the incredible souls who have shaped your beautiful persona
Your aura casts radiant waves of the brightest colours and the deepest feelings of purity
Come bathe us in your light
Cast it far and wide in this Highland homeland
For now, we all embrace life and will celebrate new beginnings

I Am An Empty Shell

I am an empty shell
Hold me to your ear
Can you hear the soothing sound of waves lapping on a deserted, tropical beach?

NO!!

All that you can hear is a cry for help, as my soul plummets, screaming towards the black abyss
Say a prayer for this one, and all the empty shells in the world

Life You Are a Whore

Life you are a whore

We took a vow to live happily, healthily, with fidelity for life
Just like a wedding promise between man and wife
Time has gone by and we have had our ups and downs
Moments of sadness and times of joy, but those are all part and parcel of life
But now you have destroyed my life, betrayed my trust
Taken away all the important things, that make living a happy life, a must
You have ripped out my heart and tarnished my soul
Remove my aspirations and hope
Driven me towards a black hole
Life you are a whore
You have left me hopeless and weak
My only companions are your three ugly sisters and the title of freak
May I introduce you to Helplessness, Hopelessness and Despair
Thank you so much you whore, that’s really fair!
I was faithful to you, now you leave me with this devilish trio, suffocating from their satanic kiss
Entwining my body and soul, constricting me, dragging me into the abyss

You betrayed me!
You cheated on me!
You abandoned me!
How goddam cowardly!
Life you’re a whore
Last one out, switch off the light
Time to end it, I can’t take anymore, the end is in sight
Life goodbye
The last curtain call
Life you’re a whore, you sat back and let me fall

Caged Beast

Caged Beast

Thoughtful and logical mind now becomes primeval, unruly and savage
Anger and hatred in every thought come to the fore
Life you betrayed me, I don’t need you anymore
Don’t enter my domain, don’t stare at me, touch me or utter a word
Attack is on my mind, no warning will be given or heard
Pain is my mistress and silence my desire
My entire body and mind are on fire

Psychotic – Anger, red mist
Neurotic – Anxious, obsessive, black haze
Catatonic – Silent, motionless, colourless and crazed

Doctors what do they know
They google it, they read it, do they understand it?
I have to dam well live it

I'Ve Lost My Aura

I’ve lost my Aura

Life and soul of the party
We light up the room
Charismatic, charming, engaging
Life’s spirit incarnate
That’s me and my Aura, folks
We are untouchable, reigning supreme
Blazing along life’s highway on our Pulsating Light tour

From nowhere, the snap of the straw and an apocalyptic explosion
My personal life’s reactor goes into meltdown

Something has happened
I am ill and I don’t know why
I look in a mirror
I see a face staring back at me
Its eyes are black and face ashen grey
Is this the man that once was me?
Or is it the thing I have become?

I’ve lost my Aura

Face and body, contorted and wrinkled
The strength has gone, spirit and soul have packed their bags
No confidence, focus, energy or desire
My spiritual ambience has had its brightest moments, now the light fades

It only briefly dares to look straight ahead
It despises its own image
Confidence shattered, terrified of engagement
No light anymore, gone, consumed by black nothingness

Aura, I have lost you
Where will I find you?
What did I do?
Please forgive me
I need you back Aura
Is this divorce?

The reflection fades, and with it, my life with you
Goodbye and thanks for the memories
I hear there is a good gig going on without us, and its playing our tunes

The Cycle

I am tarnished
I am stained
I am damaged goods
I need to be cleansed, wiped clean of the darkness that envelops my body and mind
The daily cycle starts
Anytime night or day, as I close my eyes, praying for the shortest respite
I am drowning in a putrid mix of misfiring chemicals

Two separate entities harbouring different agendas

My body wants to shut down, slip away peacefully - It wants to sail a boat towards Tranquillity Bay
My brain is full of manic thoughts as it races up and down Overdrive Boulevard
Accelerating, uncontrollably in a maddening incoherent state - it has no intention of slowing down
This is my ambivalent, degenerate existence people
Welcome to the cycle
Welcome to the lives of the millions of silent ones amongst us, paralysed by the cycle and suffering in silence
The drum roll slows its beat
It stops, the cycle has ended – For now
I am not cleansed, clean or refreshed

I am blooded
I am stained
Bruised, battered, drowned
Even more damaged.

Please help me!!

Cut the power
Silence the drum
Show me how to break the cycle and sail again

Whispers of the Sea

The whispers of calm
The whispers of peace
The whispers of the briefest inner serenity
They are calling me, the sea calls to me
The distance calls of seals, the cries of the birds, nature’s sweetest symphony, plays its soul-enriching music
It calls to me, they call to me
Apathy fades through the light of ever changing shades
Banish the dark for the shortest of moments.
Call to me, keep calling me
Beautiful whispers of the sea.

I Am An Egg

Look at me I am an egg!
Slightly cracked on the outside, plenty being said
I differ from so called regular eggs sat all around me

Don’t judge my appearance when you are staring at me.
Delve into my inner being, unlock my secret self, and you'll find the key

I am wired slightly differently inside of my shell
Living a life that resembles the worst imaginable hell

My yolk is all scrambled, poached and fried
My life an endless plane crash exploding inside
If you drop me I will fall, I will smash into pieces as I hit the dark wall

So wrap me with kindness, love and support
Don’t judge me from my appearance or the way I sometimes act

I am sick, tired, desperate for understanding, a most understated fact

I don’t need all of the King’s horses
I don’t need all of the King’s men

Those special to me, will one day, put me back to together again
