Attempt

When they declared allegiance
Overnight, you would not know
Who is by your side and who is not:
You would not know
If you are a victim or a culprit:
Whether you are prey
Or the hunter,
When the earth threatens
To swallow you in seduced heat
A blast man made and just in time,
It misses you by a whisker,
And yet it's strength
Is strengthened by the ones it struck;
It is then you know
That it was not just a game,
The fact that you survived it means
They have gone back to the drawing board:
They are all condemning it,
Among them are the ones who
Certainly committed it, and cowards they are,
They sing your slogans,
Wear your regalia, your face they want to delete,
That's when you know it was an attempt,
Suicide or assassination;
It is then when the victim
Is the first suspect.

Stuck On You

If words can't describe
What you mean to me:
You mean nothing,
Nothing to me.
Let me take this chance
To tell you what you mean to me.

You're my joy,
You're my pain,
My laughter,
My tears.
You're anything,
You're nothing:
You got me all confused,
You fly me high,
You drop me down,
I'm stuck on you.

You're my sunshine,
My rain,
You're my desert,
My oasis,
You're god, you're devil.
You're anything,
You're nothing:
You got me all confused,
You fly me high,
You drop me down,
I'm stuck on you.

You're honey,
You're chilli:
You're my strength
And my weakness
You're my summer,
You're winter.
You're anything,
You're nothing:
You got me all confused,
You fly me high,
You drop me down,
I'm stuck on you.

You're my fire,
You're my ice,
You're heaven,
You're hell,
You're my emptiness,
You're my completion.

And How She Tried

The scent of underdone eggs
Reminds me of my mother
And how she tried
To make my life possible.

Something is bringing back
The smile on my face again,
Something grand is happening
In the other worlds.

For all I had been
There was a love I had seen
And for all that it was
That love was so pure and rare,
Had to be restored, revealed.

My heart was heavy,
Only yesterday,
It was distraught,
It wanted to give up,
But now I can see where I am.

Cry No More

There was a time I wished
The sun would never rise again,
Only to wake up with it
Staring dark at me.

If you were to cry,
Cry the tears I cried,
Then you would see
I don't want to cry no more.

I wished I could crawl
Into a dark hole,
And let the earth consume me
To infinity.

If you were to walk,
Walk the path I walked,
Then you would see,
I don't want to cry no more.

Nothing is enough,
Whatever it takes is
What I am going to do;
I don't want to cry no more;
God willing!

Aloe Vera

It was a forties erectile dysfunction scare,
The home had become a war zone,
The warhead was damaged;
The wife was breathing fire,
Auntie Google pointed to Aloe Vera
For remedy with little side effects.

I picked one thorny leaf on the side road,
Squashed it into my water bottle;
Ooops, what a thorny taste,
I soldiered on, I had to be restored;
I kept on sipping.
I was back on track without counting;
Sunrises nor sunsets.
My diamond warhead is back
The wife ululated, what is your secret?
What a wonderful sign!

Now I smear it on my face,
On my arms, upper body,
Soon it will be the whole body;
What a glow,
Got the women staring;
You got a nice fragrance;
One whisphered the night last,
I polish my shoes with it;
Dust sits on them with a grudge.

An ode to Aloe Vera,
The miracle thorny leaf,
Just add water.
Walk in my bedroom,
You see my funny looking water bottle,
Never despise it!

Naughty Couple

Send me those pics from the shower, otherwise!

Otherwise what?
I am standing here naked waiting for an answer.

Otherwise I will stroke you for one hour
When my eyes caress you.

So I am not doing it,
I would rather have my punishment for one hour.

It won't be a punishment for you,
The way you love it.

Yeah, that's why I chose not to send them.
I miss you sleeping beside me.

I miss sleeping inside you,
Quite some ducks there, let's row them up,
You got that thing on you;
Keep my thing on you and for me like
I am keeping yours.
The fact that I am mending the clothes
You bought me does not mean I will mend
Your heart or your love for me:
Thanks for capturing my choice and shades.

Niece Misled

She was a beautiful girl
Dark and plush like her dad,
I held her in my hands,
Smiling was she, the eldest
Of my sister's motherhood.

She has grown up now,
She is a woman,
A fool with dirty cash has caught her,
It was her younger sister first,
Now safely hidden at varsity,
Thug is brainless with money,
A few ciders and grills,
My niece has a worm in head,
She cannot see beyond
The shrinking horizon of lynx money.

My little girl,
Stop that enterprise,
There is no reality in it,
It is an unjust, shameful relationship.

Who are you to tell me that?
You are not my father!

Little niece,
Have you ever seen your father?

Vegetable Market Freezer

I rule you for forty two years,
All that I have done for you,
Free health, education, above that
Above average standard of living worldwide.

All you do is kill me,
Keep my dead body in a
Vegetable market freezer
Displaying it to onlookers,
Had I known you loathed
Me that much,
I should just have
Quit the game of pride.

Strife

In life I worked
In search for the beauty
And meaning to my existence,
What did I do,
When my life is all
Hard work and strife?

At the end
It was a painful feeling
For me to fail to hate
Someone who had hurt me
So much on grounds
Of the colour of my skin.

Spot of Jealousy

When was the last time we made love?
Some of the time you were tired,
Most of the time you were not in the mood.
And you just saw me with another girl,
You are not having another having eyes for me!

A badly maintained man is hazardous,
And tonight you can not wait for pillow talk,
Tonight you want to eat me whole,
Tonight a spot of jealousy ignites a vista of pleasure.
What do you think I would ever do for love,
When I do not get it at home,
And you saw me with another woman,
You are not having another smooch with me.
Seems to me competition that makes you be,
What kind of love would that be,
If you only want to take away the love given to me?
