I Don Promise Pidgin

?The way you dey enter my brain,

The way you dey burst my head,

Nobody don ever make me feel this way before…

Each time I dey with you,

E be like say make time no move.
Na only you this drum wey

Dey my chest dey beat for…

I don promise you before;

And I go still tell you again,

Even when tomorrow come,

Say na only you go occupy this space wey dey my heart.
Sometimes the sky no go clear,

And I know say I no go always dey around,

Because of one thing or the other.

No just worry yourself;

No let anything bother you,

Just know say I go always come rescue you from wherever I dey.

You always dey my mind,

No let anybody put sand for our garri,

Na only you be the person wey u go like carry go church

Our Heroes Past Pidgin Version

As time dey go, people dey forget.

Friends dey go and enemy dey come,

I go still respect those people wey give us their tomorrow

So that me and you go fit live today.
I go always remember every hero

Wey don kick bucket.

I go keep them for inside my heart,

Because them go always get meaning to me.

Even though today, life dey filled with regrets…

Make we remember them,

Make we no forget them.

Vanity Upon Vanity

?what is this life,

if all we do is acquire it’s wealth and forsake the master above?

I do not seek that all should comprehend,

but heed the kings advice…

“vanity upon vanity, all is vanity”.
Everyday life brings to us numerous challenges,

press on brethren, they are only temporal.

they are here to make us and not break us.
Take the bull by its horn,

live each day with your eye focused on the goal;

that heavenly prize.

the time is now, it waits for no man.

make hay while the light still shines,

because at the darkest hour…

the flames may be gone.

Black Is gifted

Black is Classy

Africa Arise

Africa, Land of my noble birth,
Now is the time to break free from your adversary’s girth.
The time has come for you to take your place,
And your challenges you must face.
My dear Africa, this is the time to arise from your anguish and death.

Africa, land So blessed and resources abound,
The dreams of our fathers, we must keep alive.
Even though vampires and bloodsuckers abound,
Our future, the youths, we must not deprive.

Africa, land of noble warriors,
Take your swords and shield,
And break free from the den of your captors.
The grass is greener, take charge of your field,
To our captors; we must not yield.

America America

?America America

the beautiful land across the Atlantic

that once desolate land:

where like sardines in can; we were shipped

to labour with our blood and sweat.
oh America, the greatest

that distant land;

we’ve all accepted as home…

give us this day our liberty,

and forever remain blind to our colours, stretch forth your hands in love and embrace the beauty within.
America America…

my sweet America,

land of our heritage…

in God we trust;

and the dreams of our fathers we must keep alive.

True Love

When I go to heaven and you are not there,
I will wait for you by the golden stair.
If you are not there before judgement day,
I will know you went the other way.
And to prove my love for you is true,
I will go to hell just to be with you.

Blood and Water

since wrong is wrong,
and right is the only escape route;
can't we just forgive?
let bygones be bygones,
and love afresh renew.

Hold me tight like I was your own;
feed me not with crumbs,
oh brother of my father.
give me the jolly life as a man of caliber.

Do not sideline me
in the merriment of life.
blood is thicker
and water lighter…
let it not vanish;
these bonds we share,
oh brothers of my father.

Plea of a Mormon Poet

I’m through with this grand-oval shaped abode,

where it’s center of gravity is filled with vanity.

methinks I shall absent myself from their evil propagandas and empty lullabies,

holding firm to my Ephraim’s stick and that of Judah.
Hey you over there-

keeper of the gates above,

shut not thine doors against I…

for all thine laws have I kept;

thine ordinances have I performed.

shut not thine doors of life against I thine faithful servant.

lest I be damned for all eternity.

Africa's Prophecy

Hear the words of the poet,
O ye nations and declare it in the lands afar and say,
He that scattered Africa will gather him and keep him as a shepherd does to his flock.

For the Lord hath redeemed Africa,
and ransomed him from the hands of the oppressor.

Therefore they shall come and sing to the Lord
And shall flow together to the goodness of the lord.

For wheat, and wine, and for oil,
And for the young of the flock and of the herd.
And their soul shall be as watered garden,
And they shall sorrow no again.

Thus said the Lord, refrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears,
For thy work shall be rewarded said the Lord.

And they Which were taken shall come again from the land of their oppressors.
And in the end, there’s Hope, said the Lord.
That thy children shall come again to their own border.
Upon this I awakened, and beheld and my dream was sweet unto me.
