They are uncaged

College

I didn’t expect this
At all
In the movies
It always looked so
Fun
But I'm bored
Classes suck
I have barely any friends
And no one
Notices me
My roommate is a
Drag
There’s nothing to do in
This boring
College town
My family
And friends
Are all back home
I wonder
If they miss me.

Truly American

I could sit in these seats all day
Watching the greatest sport
Anyone could ever play.
The games are a blast
Skip the seventh inning stretch
I just want to watch them play
I enjoy some ballpark food
At some ungodly prices
But I do it because I love the game
Of course I have my favorite team
And I’ll cheer for them no
Matter what.
This game will always be
My favorite until I die.
Watching the seamless
Throws and hearing the ball
Hit the glove.
How could anyone hate this sport?
I truly love baseball, because
Where else would I want to be?

Cat Love

My cat was once in love.
She was in love with a dove.
The dove flew away.
She was not okay.
It gave her heart a big shove.

Fire Away

I don’t own this place.
I only work here.
I don’t make major decisions but
By all means,
Yell at me because it’s going
To help you so much.
It’s not like I want to be here.
Honestly I don’t know why I show up.
It’s not like I enjoy
Working with people who
Come to me
With some of the dumbest problems
Or questions but then
You act all entitled because
According to company policy
You are ALWAYS right.
Which you usually aren’t.
Just because you think you
Are doesn’t mean you are.
Maybe if you knew
How to read a sign
You wouldn’t find
The need to yell
At me or my coworkers
Trust me
We will be making fun
Of you on our breaks
Mocking you.
So ask yourself,
Do you really want to be that person?

Great Glades

I journey through the Everglades.
Gators cut through the water like blades.

Photograph

Pictures tell a story
Hold the memory forever
NOthing can replace them
Taking the moment
FOrever remembered
Gazing upon memories
Do you Remember this moment?
At the time and place
Placed upon the wall
Hanging there.

The Cook

There is a man who likes to cook.
He doesn’t get his recipes from a book.
First he bastes,
Then he tastes.
His food happens to be real hook.
