Winter's Wind

She woke up alone again this morning
The sun rose up over the trees again
She looked out through the frosty window
And felt the chill of winter’s wind

She put on her coat and walked out of the cabin
And reached to pick dried flowers she had grown
Carefully she put them in her basket
And walked down the trail that led her to the stone

She brushed away the leaves that had gathered
And shivered one more time from the cold
She lost everything that ever mattered
Shedding tears from a story she never told

She heard a little voice say where’s daddy?
And saw the face of a child who had grown
She shook away the vision from her memory
And cried again from the sorrow of a broken home

Years ago he left her
And a little girl who never understood
The story she knew was such a sad one
She tried to explain but never really could

Winter

There’s a quiet sadness overlooking winter’s icy pond
The trees are sleeping in their frozen pajamas

The sky is grey, low and unforgiving, motionless and cold. On a twig the little bird with his puffed up feathers waiting patiently for the stillness of time to move again.

The warm sun tucked away in winter’s back pocket, hidden from us for the moment, perhaps longer. Nature’s colors stored away in winter’s closet, greens, reds, yellows, all put away for now, only white, the absence of color.

Winter’s decoration, the landscape in her hands. Soft fluffy snowflakes gently drifting into a misty fog, hazy greys floating over a frozen pond. Her vision, her design, hopefully submitted for your consideration.

Never Did

Never did what you thought you might
Wandering through darkness looking for light
Lost in the silence
A wandering soul
Alone and empty
growing old

Lost Love

Your precious beauty is my guiding light
Carrying me through this cold dark night
I know I’ll never see you again
But my love for you will never end
Forever together to have and to hold
An undying love that would never grow old
The faded dreams that could never come true
A broken heart that bleeds for you

The morning sun brings no relief
As sorrow fills my heart with grief
Another long day is hard to bare
As I lay drowning in the depths of despair
These emotions are deep this passion is real
And no words could express the love I feel
Without you life is a meaningless chore
A lonesome journey and nothing more

Silent Shadows

Silent shadows haunt the room
With the chilling fear of impending doom
The past is here to torment me again
Those terrible memories from way back then
One summer night I won’t forget
With nothing left but lifelong regret

This night is dark it’s lonely and cold
Mindless thoughts of an empty soul
The love I’ve lost has left me blind
As despair tortures my decaying mind
Cast into the bottomless pit
If there’s a hell then this is it

Wake me up from my worst nightmare
Hold me, kiss me, tell me you care
But there’s no one here in this empty room
I’m alone I’m dead I’m in a tomb
Silent screams that no one else hears
As I lay drowning in a pool of tears

Scared to death as fear rushes in
Chills crawl like spiders across my skin
A twisted shell cursed with pain
This wretched life has driven me insane

Morning

Sunshine on a cool clear day
A warm breeze makes the trees sway
Leaves are falling all around
They change from green to red to brown

Gentle waves cross the lake
As winter’s children begin to awake
To greet the morning with sleepy eyes
While carefree birds fill the sky

The autumn air is filled with song
While God’s grace keeps us from wrong
And guardian angels protect our day
To watch over us and lead the way

So keep our lives safe from harm
With glowing hearts to keep us warm
Show us love and what it means
So happy thoughts can fill our dreams

Just Another Note

Just another note
To put inside your box
Just another love song
To keep behind your locks

Just another pretty face
And another broken heart
Just another faded dream
That you left torn apart

One day your love will come
On a starry moonlit night
You’ll think your dreams came true
But he’ll leave you by daylight

Then you’ll have a broken heart
Just like you gave to me
Then you'll know the pain
Of heartache and misery

He’ll leave you there alone
With emptiness and tears
He’ll break all of his promises
And then just disappear

So stop all of your dreaming
No one will be just right
Your true love is already here
On this starry moonlit night

Sunday In the Park

The sky is playing, the blue it smiles
Reigning over the people with love
The world is full music and the sun it shines
Warming up the people to happier times

The mountains are singing
The birds are flying high
Feel your love growing
While clouds are floating by

White water flowing
To music on the rocks
Green grass is growing
To dreams that never stop

The world is so alive
You can feel it too
It's your mind's eye
And all just for you

Remember the teacher
Remember the child
Remember these places
Where dreams come alive
Wisdom from seeing
Comes from inside
You don’t have wonder
Just look up in the sky
There you’ll find an answer
Just open up your mind,
Life really loves you
That's what you will find
