Kinder-Writing

i.
I've learnt to play with words
Like a kid in kindergarten
Gathering thorny roses from the garden.
With words, now I play.

ii.
Despite the spikes
Pricking and tick-ly
Still, I pick words as toys
Making the alphabets my buddy.

iii.
I don't joke around Joke.
Being juxtaposed
Don't necessarily mean our thoughts don't oppose.
Nevertheless, figures of speech I literally kissed.

iv.
I'm learning to understand
Every actions in verbs
Why adjective steals informations attributed to nouns
Why exclamations don't play, with every vocal sounds.

v.
Now, with my eyes I perceive
The scent of everything around
And when my mind is alarmed
I seek refuge; swimming with the tides of letters.

Burnt Birthday

These words are woven
With threads of tear
Laced in the needle of anguish.

In truth, I can tell of how it feels
To be pinched by piercing pain.

My soul is scissored
My heart, ripped apart
My mind refuse to mend.
And I am not the only one
Dressed in this pale grief gown.

I'm only a friend
Who became a brother.
And if asked to write about you,
Would wield metallic words
With no Ore of exaggerations.

Should it be of your seemingly sweet smile
Which springs from the fountain within?

Or your ever merry soul
And your charming Nightingale voice
Resounding melodiously
With a magnetic vibrato
That can pull a cripple to wiggle in dance?

Should it be tales of your tender love for younger Souls?

The curvy smile your lips form
When you openly chant
Secret words with Mom?

I can go on and on,
Down the slope of memories
Picking golden coins as I
Surf the subway
Of the time we shared.

The news of your demise
Was the uncorked grenade,
Thrown through the passage of my ears,
Leaving my heart in shreds.

I had thought you'd come back
And walk me down the street,
Smiling, as we compare heights.

I had thought that before
heading North again,
I'll sure see you at your best;
Only to be told that you lay in rest,
That your sun suddenly
Became shy; refusing to rise.

Today is your birthday
But you're not here to celebrate it.

We could blow out the candles: for you
With wishes that you'd stay.
But this birthday girl returned to dust..

P.S: Doris Jorju Ikhile...

#Oyindamola was broken.
#Olamide felt numb.
#Nikho hope you stayed.
#RCCG Everlasting Light Parish forever loves you.
#Mom??? No other woman deserves to MOTHER you. Birthing and nurturing you in a way others envy; with love exceptional.

Proudly a Murderer

Judge me, all ye judges
All ye, without guilts.
Spit your verdicts
I'm prepared lick the muck.
.
Point fingers at me
Men with polished nails.
Condemn me
Men with vile tongues.
.
Guilty!
I plead
To all charges
Levied at me.
.
I desire sanctions
Appropriate measures, ruled.
.
'I was asked out
As a life long mate
I concurred
For I was yet a lad.
.
Days died, days lived
Months grew old and grey
Years rode on life's rolling-coasters
I was deeply in love's depth.
.
My first love
Took me out on dates
Made me believe, I did believe
None was better, none would ever.
.
I believe the lies
For they seemed true
Now, do I realize
Truthful lies are lies too.
.
My first love: my past
Died last night,
I did hit him with a bat
Before dawn births its light.'

Digit-Her

Tell me you 8 me,
Please, don't you d-9.
Tell me to 1- der away,
That you're 2 bad for me.
Tell me of your 5 star escapades
With your Slay Queen 6-ters.
Tell me you're a 3-ickster
And your heart isn't meant 4 love.
Tell me, so I'd 0 my mind.

Perfect Half

There's this smile on my face
That ceased to be erased
The source I traced,
Thoughts of you surfaced.
The shape of my smile
Is wide as Nile.
Oh my!
You leave me blue.
While God keeps me alive,
You water my soul.
You are all I have
For you truly make me whole.

Love's Temprament

Times like this,
I sway in the playground of my mood;
Falling into a melancholic digress.

Hovering over me,
Are misty dews of pessimism.

"How knowledgeable is he
That cannot read minds?"

The heart gets burdened
Knowing not if it's curve,
Would ever be straightened.

Your silence broaches my heart.

My Last Poem

Last night was my last night
I died in my sleep
I let out a scream
Watching my soul drift away.

Last night was my last night,
I watched the stars flicker.
But as the clouds turned thicker,
I got lost behind the mist.

Last night was my last night.
My bliss got ruffled
By the black owl howls.

Last night was my last night,
I died in my sleep
Death kissed me 'Good Night'.

If last night be my last night
This, was my last poem.

The Ball Pen of the Eyes

What I see is different from what you see
What I see is only seen, by me
What you see is what you've seen
That which your eyes sees.

What you see in me
May not truly be me
Only what you happen to see.

What I am and who I am
Is who I've become
My reflection may be as a result of a defunct action
Perhaps a deformed emotion.

The information you derive
May be deprived of truth, light and life.
You'd see me differently
That's definitely definite.

What I see is what my lens captures
And what my brains acts on
This might differ from yours
Even if we stare and gaze at once.

My eyes sees differently
From what your eyes saw intently.
Who I am to me
Is unknown to you
Known to the All-Knowing.

Even when I don't know myself
I'm my best friend.
My shadow is my black buddy,
My perspective;my directive
Keeps me active,
Proactive and decisive.

If what I am is me
Then why over write me?
Why write me amiss?
I'm a star on Earth
Even though I'm yet to twinkle.

Someday, I'll definitely get a spark
Grow teeth and bite like a shark.
Would have my tale written in books
When I'm finally off life's stagnant hook.

So while I'm still igniting,
See me as a work in progress.
Success would someday walk
Breakthrough would grow teeth and talk

Blessings would be seen in me
Then I'd reflect my true self
Becoming really full fleshed
My story would no more be far fetched.

Hasty Hours

Some days are harder
Than the others
Some are softer
Like feathers

Life could be fair
Life could be dear
Life could be harsh
Life could be rash

Time flies
Seconds speeds
Minutes moves
Hours, always in haste

Yesterday left
Today came
Tomorrow may
On, we hope, and lay our heads.
