Shivali Chandra Poem
If you look deep into her eyes
you will see tears welled up, waiting to escape,
like the secrets she has buried deep, for ages.
If you look deep into her eyes
If you softly brush her cheeks
you will feel smoothness scarred with wounds,
like the anguish she suppresses with her smile.
If you softly brush her cheeks.
If you inhale near her nape
you will smell her rousing fragrance covered with lavender,
like the burning passion she hides with kindness.
If you inhale near her nape.
If you slowly kiss her lips
you will taste lime infused with honey,
like the bitter truths she never reveals.
If you slowly kiss her lips
And if you wake up while she sleeps beside you
you will hear her unconscious whispers,
like the secrets she spells out
only when she knows no one is listening.
If you wake up while she sleeps beside you.

Shivali Chandra Poem
BAR MY WORDS
You can pluck the radiant flower
But can you steal its essence?
You can clip the bird’s wings
But can you steal the clouds from her eyes?
You can put off the blazing fire
But can you stop breathing its smoke?
And you for sure can bar my words
But can you steal the light from my soul?
