Lost Identity

When they ask me
"Who are you?"
I seem to draw a blank
I dont know how to answer
And I dont know what to think
I try to come up with something
But there are no words to describe
The way I feel meaningless to this world
Like a sail boat is meaningless to kansas
I feel lost and confused
Not sure what it is im supposed to do
I have my reasons to feel this way
Yet I cant name one
I feel like Im suffocating
In this world
With no purpose in life
No direction
And no understanding of who I really am
I try to speak my mind
but no words come out
I want to tell them who I want to be
But that doesnt answer the question
I dont know who I am
And I dont know if I ever will
So when they ask me
"Who are you?"
I tell them
"I dont know"

Isolationism

You grow up wondering what it's like
To be that person everyone likes
You go from school to school
Trying to fit in and be "cool"
But it comes to a point where
You suddenly learn not to care
Instead you choose to isolate
and deem it as your fate

Imagined Progress

I close my eyes and
begin to paint the empty canvas
That is my life
It starts off with a streak of happiness
And then shifts to a blob of optimism
Which is followed by a splatter of hope
But when i open my eyes
All i see is the empty canvas
