Olavi Koskela Poem
I never said it to you
blind you were not, after all.
But then when there was no way forward
I could have said something, like:
I want to stay here, in this place, now that there still
is a feeling of your hand in mine.
I don't need you to remember, but
I want to say it now, this once, I want to look this once
into your eyes when I say it
so that I have something to get back to
from beyond time and place
a signpost in the world, a candle in the dark:
I love you

Olavi Koskela Poem
Back home in cold rain
I realized another summer is come and gone
- where do they go, anyway?
Somehow I missed the chance to say goodbye
to you
too many damned people running round in cycles,
I guess
You remind me – and how I need reminding
that there can, must be a difference.
Farewell.

Olavi Koskela Poem
…
and in my mind
I'll always be the guy
who never once
gave up the dream
of clean whole-hearted life
of endless stars in nightly skies
and in the pair of bluest eyes

Olavi Koskela Poem
Only one world, one blue sky
only one life, a love lasting it
a single-
minded man.
Smile, turn, set sail.

Olavi Koskela Poem
That azure day, a starlit eve of spring, long time ago
I realized at last, irrevocably
that I would love that slip of a girl all my life
that no-one else would be her way one with the land,
a part of the landscape
the forest natter of none in the same way
Long ago, when I could hardly foresee
what it would require and with interest claim
and that love for that blue-eye
would measure me relentlessly, without residue
