My Strong Beautiful Black African Sister

Black and beautiful the crown of any man’s heart they are bewitched by her soul and her warmth.
My sweet sister draws you in with her smile, any man can find comfort in her arms.
She walks with a purpose, confident and pride knowing who she is... the queen of the Nile.

Without a doubt, her blood is royal strong and black like coffee with no cream not afraid to say what she means. No is no… yes is yes… no arguments after, no time for a debate.

My sweet sister, a woman full of hope and grace always on a mission, she knows her purpose and her place. My strong beautiful black African sister.

Jamaica At 60

There is no place like home
I represent the black, green and gold.
Out of many, we are one people, driven to succeed
Global excellence is our only mission to achieve.

Reggae and dancehall are the rhythm and beat in our feet
Only champions are born here
Marley, Louise Bennett and Bolt are all homegrown.
With blood, sweat and tears, we work hard for our own …this is the Jamaican way.

I come from a great nation, with people of strength and determination. I am proud to call myself Jamaican.

We move to one love and drink our Jamaican white rum …this is the land we love.

The aroma of blue mountain coffee mixed in the morning air, the taste of ackee and saltfish with a little roast breadfruit are heavenly delights only a Jamaican can understand, the national dish of our homeland.

Look at our smiles we celebrate 60 years in grand style.
No matter where we are, yard or abroad with heads held high we are proud to call ourselves Jamaicans.
We celebrate Jamaica's 60 years of independence by re-igniting our greatness within all who call themselves Jamaicans.

"I am Jamaican"

I Am That Girl

I am my mom's miracle child
The girl you didn't expect to live
The girl next-door that wasn't going to be successful
yes
I am that girl
I am the girl fighting with and for her weight to be normal
I am that girl running down her dreams
I am that girl searching for happiness
yes
I am that girl
I am that girl that didn't think she was beautiful
I am that girl you judged because I didn't measure up to your expectations
yes
I am that girl with the black skin and nappy hair
The girl you said is not good enough for your son
yes
I am that girl you never gave a chance
yes
I am that girl…but guess what?
I am that girl that will never give up
yes
I am that GIRL

My Reason To Smile

I have a reason to wake up again
I have a reason to smile
The warmth of your body next to mine
Your magical touch
Is my only reason to smile
There is hope in your words
Joy in my heart
I have a reason to smile again
I have love in my heart
I can see the beauty of yesterday, today and every day ..you are my reason to smile
You took away my broken soul
You awaken my joyfull heart
I see only open doors
Smile
I am looking towards heaven and thanking my king for giving me someone that holds my smile
I blessed with your love and that makes me smile.
Love and happiness surround me, you are my reason to smile
I have a reason to smile
I love you
You are my reason to smile

Eternity

I want to make a vow to you for eternity
I want to say I love you and keep saying it for the rest of our life
I want the first thing I hear in the morning is your voice reminding me how blessed we are to have each other
I want the fairy tale
I want the happy ever after
I want my soulmate and best friend
I want your hands in mine
I want to know I can count on you every day of our life
I want to know you accept me for the fool I am and see the beauty in my smile
I want you to teach me to grow, pull me out of my comfort zone
I want you to never give up on me, even when it's hard to do... Never give up on us
Take away the tears from years of pain and bring me happiness
Fight for us every chance you get
Teach me how to laugh again
I want to know your heart belongs to me and only me
I want to be your better half, your only half and your forever love
I want to give you my heart and never take it back, knowing it's secure
You are the love of my life
The light in my darkest days
My hope
My universe
My forever love
My only love
The man I grow old with
You are my today, my tomorrow, my forever....my eternity ...my love

Usher Him Out

Usher him out!
I think this was the Lord's house
Wait a second
Pastor where is the love of which you speak
All your brothers armed with guns not a Bible ...wi in the Middle East?

Usher him out!
Pastor something wrong ...isn't there a place for me, wid mi red lipstick, mi wig and mi modern day dress ...a little short but a fi mi ...
I don't have a place in heaven?
Mi nuh count inna the good book?
Mi nuh know the scriptures well but mi sure a part seh "render yuh heart not yuh garment"
Mi never go nuh theological school but mi heart clean although mi dress short.

I think in the Lord's house yuh woulda usher mi in.
Pastor mi have a problem with you telling me I have no voice because I am a woman.
Who give you the right to call me a prostitute just because I don't dress like your wife.
She may be silent but I will speak ...You will not take away my voice from me.

Usher him out!
Shouldn't you be the one inviting him in
Mi nuh understand this church thing
Love your neighbors as yourself...I guess you miss that part in the bible pastor ....I hear you call him hypocrite...isnt that what you are?
Usher him out a the Lord's house ...isn't this where you welcome us all in with open arms...it shouldn't matter how I look ... now we know who the real hypocrites are.

Promise

I promise to love you
I promise to honor and respect you
I promise to give you all I have with the little I have
I promise to always be honest to you even when the words are hard to say
I promise to trust you in the good time and equally in the bad time
I promise if you fall I will always be there to pick you up
I promise to forgive you even when hurts to
I promise to be your friend, your cheerleader your biggest fan and your honest critique
I promise to smile with you, to cry with you and stand by you
I promise you I will allow you to grow in your own time and give you the space so you can fly
I promise to celebrate with you on every stage of our journey
I promise never to give up on you
I promise that I will give you my heart and its your to keep... I promise you

The Inner Man

Sit still, learn to listen to yourself
It's in your silence that you find who God wants you to be.

The small voice inside knows who you really are. Life is a series of mistakes, we called lessons. Keep moving, keep going and never stop. It's in failing you get closer to your success.

Greatness was born the moment you were, just be silent and find who you are.

There will always be people that have an opinion of you, what they think should not matter to you. It's your opinion of you that's what is important, you are the hero you are searching for.

Sit in silence, listen to the inner man he's your inner compass, he will point you in the direction you need to be.

let the inner man speak

My Death

Death is a shining glory,
It takes away the pain of life.
Celebrating the afterlife is the glory.

The angels will greet me with dancing feet and melodious chant, they are welcoming me to the feet of the king.

It's a festival of glowing light rejoicing over my arrival.

Death is a symbol of happiness not sadness for the dead.

I will dance on the rising sun and fade on the dawn of the morning.

Death will be my crowning moment the sadness of life is over.
