Elle Matthews Poem
The mint creeped back into my pores, all over my body.
Dripped from your neck onto my tongue.
You were silent for a moment as you looked over my curves.
I could feel the milk of my skin satisfying the desert of your lips.
Your eyes lost in your mind.
Confused fear reflected in your iris.
The flames of your past igniting your pupil.
I closed my eyes, And let them envelop my heart.

Elle Matthews Poem
I don't see anybody else because they aren't you.
Somedays, my inspiration flows from my fingertips
Spiraling across pages
Eloquent and heart-wrenching
Other days, I scribble dead end sentences
Sloppy and without passion
The other days aren't you.
They do matter, those half wit constructions
Providing only bits and pieces
To one beautiful work
You are a novel
Gushing from my pen
I don't want a string of simple words that fall off my pages as the seasons change
I want volumes etched into trees, bound by the earth
I want you.

Elle Matthews Poem
You slipped into my life
silk over my fragile frame
eyes sparkling in the night
hand wrapped around my jaw
warm lips on my forehead
I had never breathed so slowly

Elle Matthews Poem
I feel a million years old
I have been longing for eternity
Cold and hollow
Lost and delicate
I feel like a force
Just a soul with emotions
Floating around
Filling the atmosphere
But, no one can see.
My mind is a peaceful rage
kicking and screaming as it transcends
Knowledge pressing hard on my temples
A migraine of awareness
Buzzes around me
Louder and louder
I'm screaming through my teeth
MAKE IT STOP!
Though, I need it
I need it to remind me I'm alive
I refuse to be another calcified soul
So, I will suffer
Suffering is better than feeling nothing at all
I will find my passion, my muse
And I will set the world ablaze with it.
