Me

Dear Mom
I died the day
you asked me
to stop being gay...
I tried to hide...
Just to please you...
you said,
I wouldn't go to HEAVEN...
your words tore
into my flesh
and into my heart.....
you destroyed my soul...
you were embarrassed
every time I was exposed...
I have decided to stand proud...
So, I will move away....
I pray and I hope
that one day you will
accept the child you gave birth to
ME....

My Mom

she kept me
close to her heart
instilling her stare
deep within my eyes
penetrating her warmth
her care
leading me to
unfamiliar spaces
I stand alone
as she
holds me
my mom.

Separation

a path
I followed
lead me
from
your embrace
to scenes unknown.
whispers echo
within the walls
of separation.
intensifying
feelings of lost.
spaces form.
creating gaps.
a journey begins.
memories.

How Long Must I Wait

your breath against the wind
battling to take me in
with every minute
my heart beats
thoughts of me
belonging to you
how long must I wait
with every ache
to feel your body
against mine
will the wind blow
you away
to a place
far away
how long must I wait

Me

the way
you
look at me
makes
my heart
beat
uncontrollably

The Beginning

stepping over yesterday
on my way to
today
crashing into walls
as I make my way
unfamiliar spaces
ahead of me
a road to travel
yet I can't see
a left or a right
I must choose
no one seems happy
or amuse
no time to conclude
my brief interlude
my world spins
as my story begins

Changes

in another
time..
in another
space...
i await
the step
you take....
changes
need to be made...
there's places to go...
a new you...
a new me...
we must
get to know....

The Hold

silence.
words
warp
in my
soul.
the hold.
ups.
downs.
episodes.
flashes
of long ago.
no control.
shutting out
destiny
as it
unfolds.

Silly Things

I
laugh
at the
silly things.
the shadow
that
follows me...
silly thing...
hides
from the
moonlight...
dances...
silly thing...
in the sunlight..
silly thing

Your Love

your power
holds me...
tearing
down
walls
setting me
free...
pebbles
fall
to my feet...
your love
heals
and
strengthen
the weak...
shining
above mountains
and
deep in the sea....
the life
you have
given me
sets me
free...
Your love
forever
holds,
strengthen
and
reflects
through
me....
thank you
for
watching
over
me....
