Life's a Bitch

Don’t be surprised if you wake up and I’m gone,
Still lying next to you but no longer there
Body limp, lifeless with a fleeting warmth
A look of peace upon my face.

My life has been a waste, an emptiness I could not fill
Failures that lasted too long, and love that could not be returned
Private moments that stayed in the dark
Haunting me until my last dying breath

To those that cared, worry not for when I am gone
Life will continue, my legacies to carry on
My last wish being that I am forgotten
Forgive me not for my sins I have fought with.

Those looking for answers
Be not despondent, for I was never for here
A waste of being, better left rotten
Forget, forgive, or be left wanting.

Dad's Song

Pops when you was first diagnosed I was in disbelief,
The cancer that they found made it hard to breathe.
An endless beacon of strength kept you fighting each day,
Only to watch you fade before death took you away.

A year later, still can’t believe you are gone,
As I continue reciting the lyrics to your favorite song.
My greatest fear came true the day you passed away,
Now I know it’s that I’ll never see you again.

I reminisce over our silent conversations,
And the deficit in I Love You’s,
But revel in the life that carries on in your little osito
Ese cabron has a piece of grandpa’s heart.

My only regret is that on this day
My tears won’t reach your grave
So grab a beer, pull up a chair,
I hope you have front row seats to hear Freddie sing today.

Untitled

Love was carried with the wind,
A whisper to his lover’s ears.
You are made for me, the wind told me so,
You are made for me, as she listened for more.

Let me be your net if you should fall,
Take your hand while you stand tall.
Let me be your white knight,
Without speaking at all.

Girl of my dreams, you’ve awakened my heart,
The sun shines brighter, now that I’ve witnessed your smile.
Knowing that there is hope, I profess my love in as many ways,
Please listen to the wind before it fades away.

For the wind carries a thousand kisses,
Knowing why fate has placed you in my way.
And if love is not enough to carry you to me,
Know that my love will follow you home.

The Writer

In a hell of my own creation,
With responsibilities and attached emotions.
Nowhere left to turn because I’ve been left forsaken,
Well that may be my story, the one I’ve been creating,

Add your own verse if you feel mistaken,
Had love for me when I wasn’t paying attention.
Guarded my back when I left it open,
Who’s to say it wasn’t a knife that I felt plunging.

Played the fool, the heartless, and the visibly shaken,
My mind and heart races to the beat of my own abomination.
Rip the page from my memory, leave that book unwritten,
The author has left to write another Fked up mystery.

Cataclysmic

If I were superhuman, I would be “Cataclysmic, the wonderful.”

Cause everywhere I go I cause destruction on contact,

My words cause confusion, it’s an illusion, there’s no confusion,

No accident, that my accent is evident.

Cause everything I touch explodes on contact.

Actions leave disasters in my wake, like an earthquake,

Tsunami, that’s not me but I can cause waves that hit like your mommy.

My words are elementary, rudimentary but let’s not get ahead of me,

I’mma leave a path a destruction in my wake,

When I leave this Earth you gonna remember me.
