I Am a Metaphor

I am a cross-stitch masterpiece.
Seen perfect in front, inside a frame;
But messed up and intricate behind.
(You are made beautiful but there is the reality 
that life isn’t perfect with your troubles and battles in it.)

I am a broken mirror,
Damaged; but with proper use,
Can still emit reflections of light.
(Within your troubles, you get broken but you learn 
how to get out of the darkness and be hopeful.)

I am a shattered glass,
Broken into pieces; but can still
Prick and cut the deepest.
(Within your battles, you get hurt but you learn 
how to stand and fight with resilience.)

I am a jigsaw puzzle,
Cut into pieces with various shapes;
But when fitted together forms a masterwork.
(With the various experiences that you get in, 
it is actually yourself that you are building.)

I am just a brick of wood; 
But if carved with care and precision,
Forms a lovely contour.
(Moreover, from life’s simple things, you can 
shape amazing ones with patience and perseverance.)

I am therefore a metaphor.
If you read me, I may not make any sense;
But if you analyze me,
Everything will be wonderful to your senses!

Because You Love Me

I was living in the darkness when you came.
I was filthy, unworthy, full of shame.
Heart marked with sorrow, brokenness and blame.
Crippled; no direction; completely lame.

I heard You knocking but I didn’t let You in.
I ignored You when You were calling my name.
You said You have something better for me.
I refused to listen and lived in my own way.

Despite what I’ve done, You have forgiven me.
You touched my heart and You let me feel and see
That love I don’t deserve, but You let me feel anyway.
Not because I love You, but Jesus, because You love me.

To be precious in Your eyes secured me from the enemy.
I was lost but You found me and bless me day by day.
You’re teaching me how to walk with You in every way.
That joy You bring makes me live in an extraordinary way.

To My Beloved Grandma

There is one place I know
Where we can see you whenever we want to
Where we can be with you
Where we can spend our time for you

It's a place that can never be taken away from us
It's a place that is just for us
Where time can really go slow 
So we can be with you.

It's a place where we built memories
It's a place where we can still listen to your stories
It's a place where we can visit always.

Hope Behind the Shadows of Pain

In some others’ pretty eyes,
There’s a great painful disguise;
Disguise that dressed their lonely hearts
With devastating cuts that ever hurt.

Their smiles turned into sobs,
Their laughter turned into screams,
Their days turned into nights,
And their joys turned into sorrows.

But no matter what caused their pains,
They move forward as they wipe their tears.
For in every beat of a lonely heart,
There is hope that lights the path.

A Beautiful Soul

The first time I saw you,
You were with a beautiful smile.
And the longer I get to know you,
You're with a lot of things to hide.

You have a beautiful soul,
But a beggar deep inside; 
Craving for love, thirsting for life,
Covered up with deceitful lies.

Blinded and deceived; 
Still young to understand.
Living with what the world's offering
But deep within, you're suffering.

You've told me once 
That when you're lonely,
You cry and try to pray
Calling God desperately.

Then suddenly you asked, 
"Who is Jesus by the way?" 
Then I tried my best to share His story
And your eyes sparkled differently.

I hope your doubt, 
God will wash away.
I hope you realize,
That He's with you all the way.

Just in a short period of time,
I have many things to compile.
Along with my loneliness in life,
You always make me smile.

Memories of you give me reasons
To walk an extra mile.

Your Love Towards Me

In every morning that you open my eyes,
Thank you for showing me the beauty of life.
As I get out of bed, You hold my hand.
You always keep my feet on the ground.

You sanctify the intentions of my heart.
You guide my thoughts with Your truth.
You mark with goodness the tablets of my heart.
Lord, You empower me to do what’s right.

Thank you for leading my way.
You make me strong in my weaknesses.
You’re teaching me to love the way You do.
And things I need to see, You always show.

In every night that I close my eyes,
You cover me with Your precious blood.
You purify me from this selfish world.

Make sure you can stand and fight the risky partnership.

At first, you would believe you are for each other;
That both of you are destined to be together.
But at some point, there are things you must remember,
So you can make yourself believe in forever.

If one of you doesn’t care at all,
The other would surely break and fall.
Plus, if one of you chooses to leave,
The other would surely stay and grieve.

One maybe so insensitive,
The other may just give and give;

In your eyes, I see a special kind of me.
I never knew but I believe you’re meant to be,
Meant to be with me since you crossed my way.
Call me a fool, but I think you’re my destiny.

You changed my world and you made it new.
You care for me and you love me so true! 
And now I know, my heart belongs to you;
Because in your eyes, I only see “me and you”

When you’re lost in the eternity of sorrow
And despair flows in every vessel within you;
There’s always a comrade, like a hero,
Who lightens and settles your life to glow.

When you’re carrying an aching burden
And the purpose of your life’s left hidden;
There’s always an angel from the heavens,
Who breaks the rules which are forbidden,
And saves you from the tomb of desperation.

A comrade, a hero, an angel…
Whatever you call him, he’s a friend,
Who listens, who comforts, who understands,
