Finish Last

A hatred toward myself
a longing for the feeling of the cold hearted
no emotion
no cares
no heartbreak
the unbelievable becomes real
a rejection burning so deep!
another night of these deadly thoughts
realizing the sad truth,
nothing I do can ever be enough
the cliché stands true…
Nice Guys finish last!

A Couple In Love

A young couple sits together on the beach
As he holds her close darkness approaches,
The sun free falls toward the sea.
Refusing to let her go he kisses her,
And whispers in her ear,
“I love you”
He lets his true feelings show
Three words so simple yet so meaningful
She smiles realizing she wants to be no where else in the world.
“Let’s never forget this” she says
60 years later…
An old couple celebrating their anniversary,
Wades into the water as the sun drops to the horizon.
Holding hands the woman looks at him with teary eyes,
“Do you remember…” she begins to say
“The first time I told you I loved you?” the man responded with a smile
“You told me never to forget” he chuckled
Tears roll down her cheeks as he holds her close
Refusing to let her go he whispers in her ear,
“Let’s never forget this”

No Words Describe the Pain

No words describe the pain
As tears fall you know,
This is only the beginning!
True heartbreak lies ahead
Tears roll endlessly,
A grown man on his knees
Broken by despair.
That sad reality that your not good enough
A question you already answered!
Looking back I regret…
I regret that first look when your eyes met mine…
You had my heart more then you could ever know!
As rage brews inside, still I have no hate for you,
But only for myself!
Knowing I couldn’t be what you needed…
I couldn’t fill that role!
So here I sit alone
As tears roll down my check,
I have no words to describe the pain!

A Letter Home

A soldiers letter home, Words to real to be true
Writing of love and happiness, to the girl he left behind!
All while thoughts of war and death lie on his troubled soul
He speaks of dreams, their future together
Though it’s the nightmares of fallen comrades that haunt his sleep!
He repeatedly reassures her he will come home safe
But at night, thoughts of death bring the tears he holds inside.
He tells her he longs for the warmth of her touch
Not knowing, deep down he shivers at the thought of the warmth brought by hot
lead piercing a man’s flesh.
He takes her mind off war, telling her he can hear her voice when he lies alone
When it’s the sound of bombs and gunshots that fill his sleepless nights
Easing her worries he tells her he can visualize them together when he returns
home
While it’s his own grave he sees when he closes his eyes!
The real meaning, of a soldier’s letter home
Words to real to be true!

Another Day Passes...

Another day passes, feeling the same old things
Pain slows into agony, a passive after thought
As rage dies, tears descend
You become lost in your own thoughts
Forgetting she doesn’t even know
How deeply you feel for her!
Hiding behind your own image
Holding a hidden fear!
A need to be accepted,
Exhausting your chance to be happy!

The Soldier

THE DAY HAS COME, SHE CAN’T STOP CRYING!
HE REASSURES HER AGAIN HE WILL COME HOME!
A KISS MAYBE THE LAST, HE TURNS TO GO…HE MUST!!
              HE CAN’T TURN BACK NOW,
THE SIGHT OF HER OUT THE WINDOW, ONE TEAR FALLS!
CAN LOVE PROTECT HIM AND BRING HIM HOME?
	DESERT, GUNSHOTS RING OUT!
HEAT…HE LAYS THERE DYING,
HE SEES HER FACE, ONE TEAR FALLS!
A LETTER NEVER RECEIVED,
 A MESSAGE FROM A FRIEND;
SHE REFUSES TO BELIEVE!
	SHE CAN’T STOP CRYING!
A KISS, THE LAST…
HIS DAY HAS COME!
BEFORE BED SHE KNEELS AND SHE PRAYS…
“REASSURE HIM I WILL COME HOME!!”

For Jackson

We run out on the field all together
the crowd erupts at our energy!
a rush of adrenaline pumps inside you
the blood rushes uncontrollably!
We stand together silently
honoring jackson, tears fill my eyes!
the calm of the national anthem
then the sight of 3500 fans screaming endlessly
Down 12 at the half
we never lost faith in one another!
A great comeback, an emotional win
tears fall without chance of stopping!
No sense of embarressment
nothing but pride shines throught in us all!

Dream Catcher

A tangled web of thoughts
A mind lost in confusion
A feather decorating your soul
Covering up the sorrow!
Taking away the pain of others
Stealing fear inside.
A dependence on protection
Becoming lost ,
In a tangled web of thoughts…

Love Blinded Him

Tears roll down a young mans cheek
As darkness rolls in overhead
The pain is reflected outside his window
As rain rolls down the glass
His hands shake as tears mix with rage
As anger takes hold he holds no regrets

Vengeance Blinds Him

Rain falls on a young mans head
As he walks methodically,
On a mission, determined to get even
As rain rolls off his hat
His fists clench as rage mixes with hate
As the target comes into sight he never thinks twice

Pride Blinds Him

Fists fly from a young mans body
As he connects with his target time and again
Fatigue sets in
As rain still falls
His knuckles throb as blood and rain mix
Knowing his victim hurt her he holds no regret

LOVE blinded him

A Road Unknown

Traveling a road unknown
To a place far in the distance
Surrounded by uncertainty you carry on
Holding on to your sense of courage

The darkness draws nearer

Challenging the storm you push forward
No sense of familiarity
The rain beats down, lightning fills the sky
You can never know what’s ahead
Traveling a road unknown
