Moon and Ocean

Moon looks down upon us from so high in the unending sky, the sky so deep in color.

Moon says when the fun begins, when we can come out, along with the soft warm breeze,
Of Summer time.

Moon guides us along our nightly journey.

Our journeys to big, Red Flower parties.
To, kisses of love in the sky parties.
Along with our parties, to his true love.
She waves to him, showing her love, as she crashes against the shore, speaking to him.

Ocean sings to him,
While Moon paints pictures for her in the sky.

The love is an impossible love, but they did the impossible.
More impossible than Romeo and Juliet.
More than a princess and a farm boy.
They did it.

The saying is, distance makes the heart grow stronger.
Now we know why Ocean is more talkative at night,
Her true love is just over her.
After years and years, they’ve talked, shared secrets.
Stories about the creatures that roam on her shore.
Or the creatures that talk about the sky being beautiful with the pictures in the stars.

We are proud to announce the marriage of,
Mr. Moon, and Mrs. Ocean.

And they live happily ever after.

Barefoot Days

Beautiful sunny days,
Shorts, tank tops, dresses,
Trips to the beach;
Burns, tans, and all that’s in between.

Ice cream, soda, games in the park,
Running around barefoot.
The days of Summer are finally here!

She's a Disappointment

Family keeping secrets from the disappointment of a daughter.
No fun. No trust. No support. No love. No love. No nothing.
She keeps herself locked away in her internal black hole.
Music taking over her hearing- the words put to a tune, to keep you hooked on the hatred, pulling you closer to enjoying it.

A Night Alone

The warmth of a hug, of the light touch of a kiss, filling my entire body with comfort and safety.
The heat from your breathing, heavy and soft at the same time, making me smile a little.
The comfort that we have around each other, to be ourselves.
To be just like old friends, teasing and poking.
True friendship, to be as close as can be, but still live apart.
Snuggles and cuddles, keep my thoughts on you, while nuzzling into your neck.
Letting sleep take me over, with the protection of your arms around me.

Accepting Yourself

When do you know when you’ve accepted yourself?
What does it feel like?
Are you HAPPY?
Are you EXCITED?
Are you SORROWFUL?
What do you think like?
Is there a difference in the way you think?
Do you have a different appearance?
What does it mean to accept yourself?

Do you act different?
Are you more open with yourself?
Or more closed up because you don’t want others to see yourself?
When do you know when you have accepted yourself?
What does it mean to accept yourself anyways?
Is it to feel comfortable in your own skin?
Is it to be happy with who you are?
Or is it to live up what everyone else wants you to be?
Is it you accepting who you are? Or is it someone else's way of see you fit to be?
What does it mean?
I want to know!

Happy Fathers Day

He starts as just that, a he.
Just a random face in the crowd.
As he grows up he falls in love,
makes choices, sets examples,
influences many people who are now greater than they were.
He starts out as a husband.
Loving her with all he has.
Comforting her, standing up for her,
Sheltering her, providing for her and +1 on the way.

Preparing the room for their child coming into the world.
He, the one that was just a random face in the crowd,
Who use to have just one name,
Now has multiple different names.
Father, Dad, Daddy, Dada, Pa, Papa, and many more to come.
He is now all of that to a new he.
A new random face in the crowd.

Giving It All

You put your all into him, he puts his all into you... But we somehow still have more to give.
She's giving it her all, but he's starting to give less, but she holds on, keeping them both afloat...
He starts giving his all again, but something feels off, she's feeling uneasy, she's giving less... She dies a little inside as the tears stream down her cheeks.
She wants to tell him, but she knows he needs to sleep.
She knows he's dealing with too much already. But she made a promise... And so did he!

First Love

Heart pounding like thunder,
Cheeks heating up like the light touch of the sun,
Tummy tickling by the wings of butterflies.
Body getting chills all over as if Winter is about.
The feelings you get at first love.

I Don'T Understand Friendships

I don’t understand friendship.
Why do people who play as your friends all through your childhood
then turn around and hurt you.
Then turn back around like nothing’s ever happened, and play nice.
It’s happen too many times that I now know who’s not my friend.

Even if it was just about me sitting next to them, or her inviting me to a party.
All they do is turn right around, cause they suddenly doesn’t have room to sit anymore.
And she thinks I’m crazy.
Childhood friend, 5 days apart, best friends forever.
Been friends since birth…
We were the tomboys together, resisting the girl inside us.
The years start flying past us as we grow, me to be more of a tomboy with the brothers
And her with the prissy girls, making fun of the girls like me.
We’re both 14… I call her up to hangout thinking we’re still best friends.
She’s too busy to hangout ‘cause she’s going out with her friends.
Slowly we stop talking to each other.
Did I say 5 days apart… my bad I meant 5 thousand years apart.
We see each other at church camp and we’re put in the same group.
Normally I’d be thrilled, but I knew that she’s not the same friend I knew.
In the day she’s the prissy girl, but by night… she’s the know-it-all for all sexual knowledge.
She’s done it more than once… but I’m just now hearing about it? Why?
What happened to my best friend?

Where did she go?

Who’s my friend now?

Forest Workers

They start at dawn, and go until eve.
Working all day long,
They bring furniture into homes.
Firewood into our burners.

They’re faces rough with scruff,
touch of dirt, with dust in hair.

Plaid and jeans to cover their skin,
Boots made of leather to cover the toe.
Wearing these things to keep warm from the chilling weather.
By their side carrying cold heavy wood sword of steel.
