Roses Are Dead, Violets Are Wilting

Roses are red, Violets are blue,
Birds are still chirping and clouds are askew;
The sun is still shining as the flowers renew.

   Leaving me breathless reveling the view,
I leisurely watch as though I'm wanted too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
   Roses are dry, violets are tilting,
Shadows gloom over the barren and wilting;
I sit there and watch, my happiness jilting.
   What once was so vibrant was now turned to grey,
Slowly but surely withering away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

   Roses are dead, as violets are too,
Everything in sight now an ungodly hue;
My once a happy life was swallowed by truth.

   Wondering why after all this time I've succumb,
I silently apologized as my body went numb.

I See a Girl

I see a girl.

  Staring back at me with those eyes so desolate,
Devoid of any happiness that was present before;
Seeing how her face was so desperate,
I couldn't help but to weep some more.

   I see a girl.

  Gazing at a reflection so revolting,
Her every flaw in the open for anyone to see;
Hoping for her body to just be molting,
Wishing there was a different person she could be.

   I see a girl.

  Desperate to purge herself of her own thoughts,
She picked up the blade and made a small enough cut;
But that cut led to many more... too big to clot,
She accepted her fate with happiness, though she was anything but.

Gray

There are no shades of white and black, only gray.
Though you may think they are balanced, they will never be;
For even basking in the light, the dark is merely on its way.
No matter how overpowering the sun is, the shadows will never go away.

   You were in the light for too long, you see;
You were blinded by that warmth, to naive to understand.
You were so happy that you could finally believe;
Now you were too late. You didn't realize it would countermand.

   The lightest shade of gray was diminishing and quickly clouded over;
Everything you fought for so meticulously completely fell apart,
It seemed unfair, but it was inevitable. Life had lost its vigor,
But that shard of light still remains, and the cycle will soon start over.
