Maricris Cabrera Poem
I see the sun breaking in your eyes
first light to a bright new day
all the glory in me reach the summit
counting all my blessings
stolen moments, laughter,
I'm having it all from a pundit.
It's always those peculiar moods
makes me silent but then,
all I could hear is the sound
of my keyboard racing back and forth
could it be my heart and yours that pound.
Your words so pure
waking my innocence, so demure
lifting me to a pedestal
shower and outpouring me with respect
O Boaz, let me be your Ruth!
Did I enthrall you with such sweetness
sustaining friendship, your pretty poetess
so blessed I have it all, I admit with stark simplicity
My Lord, I must humbly say
I accept your grace and I offer thee
my complete devotion and felicity.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
I
do
try to
appreciate
sententious words, it's
good to accept them as they are.
It depends on my ability how to deal with
them. Ignore or change for the best
and beat the odds then,
in the end
we'll see
who
wins.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
Dearest Sarah,
I am far away from you
with heavy heart
I'm always thinking of you
couldn't bear to watch the photo
of you and me,
giving it a kiss and embrace
I always wanted to see your face.
I'll catch a train in Spring
every second I'm remembering
the memories that we have
and the love you bring.
Dearest Jonas,
I am so overwhelmed
upon receiving your letter
I couldn't wait
to see you in Spring
the day of our wedding
the moment we say, "I do"
my love I'll give fully to you.
we will be wearing our rings
a symbol of our promise
and everlasting love
and all I could dream of.
Early morning
one Monday in Spring
Sarah, wearing the whitest of white
and the sweetest smile
sitting in her car
vividly waiting for the groom
to appear in sight
when someone approaches
breaks the news, starting her plight.
Like a child and running wild
to his hospital bed, cold
in his hand, a paper blood-stained
she reads his vow,
I promise to love you
to stay with you for the rest of my life
fill each second with happiness
and satisfaction, and a whole lot
everything a boyfriend, a lover
a husband and father can do
I'll do it for you.
White gown now red
uncontrollable, hugging him tight
her vows, trembling, sobbing she recites
but how will they ever
make their dreams come true
she dares him take her along
with him, to stay with each other
to live with their love
if not on this Earth but in the heavens above!

Maricris Cabrera Poem
He writes, pouring down his words of glory
Disclose the echoes of his wondrous dream
Down into his soul her untold story
Boundless desire; her tears, her eyes gleam.
With strokes of rufous and cherry and wine
Erasing the dark shadows from her eyes
Canvas of ivory their love entwine
Surround them believe, O Eros, Arise!
Her heart she bore in a penumbra wakes
Of all the galaxies vast, he chose hers
Loving arms hold her still, is what it takes
His gaze, his touch, his love he then whispers
His words are robins of dawn in her heart
They fall, no they fall and never to part.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
The greatest love story ever told
it's written in the moonlight
questions in my head
could not speak as loud as my heart
clicking through the photographs
of pinches and pillow fights
how adorable when you laugh.
Shaking through the wreckage
for signs of you, A tell-tale sign
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the morning
We're lovers at a Great Divide.
How you remind me of you
I should keep breathing
don't leave me anymore
say you love me
come back and haunt me.
it's really good to hear
your voice saying my name
summers never looked the same
reflecting how things could have been,
without you has never been the same again
but the memories remain
it was worth it in the end.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
Paladin
I thought dragons
are but a fairy tale
saving tattered butterflies
broken and frail.
He sheltered her
from harm
breathing love
and kept her warm.
She may not be
the butterfly of his past
but she knows
she will be his last.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
Standing by my window this afternoon
I raise my glass to Venice in parting
Three days at the Venetian Lagoon
Down Rialto Bridge on a taxi we're riding.
"Buona giornata, Mademoiselle" greets
The room boy smiling, " Fiori per te"
I put the fresh bouquet on crumpled sheets
"It's masquerade ball tonight, my Lady."
"I will meet you at eight", was the letter
In awe of da Vinci's Mona Lisa
Mio Dio, I can't take my eyes off her
"We'll take our next flight to Casablanca."
He whispered with masked eyes staring at me
Tongue tied with every word my love goes on
An impression of love deep as the bluest sea
To you, my beautiful thinking, Godspeed anon.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
Tranquil horizon
bamboos bow down
and sway to the rhythm
of hummingbirds, as heron
hilariously march to a perch.
Sea so calm
clouds move slow
leaves drop its dew
they're all waiting,
breathlessly
waiting
for her to come out
witness her stunning
beauty,
beauty of a goddess.
Oh!
Here she comes
the Sun
on her red
orange and yellow
astounds every heartbeat
in the meadow,
she bares it all
her ever bright
and cheerful
mood she smiles,
her smile
flaunts
the world
with eternal bliss.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
Eyes full of love and passion
like a burst of colors in springtime
violets so blue; roses in crimson
love letters so full of emotion.
Whispers, breaths from two lovers
love is flowing within us
a plethora of words so sweet
as the day turns to night
and night to day; colors our lives
as its many hues it imparts
now it all seems so clear
there's nothing left to fear
you found me, lost and insecure
but now, my smile illuminates the world
so graceful, so demure.
And this I can say to you
there will be no bounds, no bars
that can hold us back
embracing each other's essence.

Maricris Cabrera Poem
Yesterday when we were walking
You asked me how I was feeling
That gale I so well remember
Tears fell like leaves in September.
Disabling words just made me sad
Tore my heart it made you feel bad
Your hazel brown eyes keep telling
Tears fell like leaves in September.
And the promises we have made
Don't forsake me, love'll never fade
All my sorrows, heart is mourning
Tears fell like leaves in September.
