Adelaide Evans Poem
Follow the thread
in and through the fabric,
this tapestry...
or is this too trite?
This little life
this stretched out line,
so very fine, this thin thread,
woven in and out.
I belabour the point.
Is this moot?
Still, follow the thread to the end.
Delicate, fragile,
handle with care.
A rare and beautiful gem,
a beating heart,
is dangling there.

Adelaide Evans Poem
Oh swan where is your song
That lost woeful cry
That last wail of goodbye
Your beauty never faded
with your life of ferity
in cautious humility
And as you fly the night sky
Your plumage is not confuted
Your voice no longer muted
Oh swan, here is your song
Oh death, where is your sting
For that swan,
That beautiful swan
Still has this song to sing.

Adelaide Evans Poem
Frightened, hiding in this park
Every rustling sound keeps me in this dark
All I want is a place to rest my mind
Rearranging shadows are all I find
The owl has not hooted
He has not made his kill
Even the night bird has become still
Nerves crawl along my arm
Insistent, persistent, like your charm
Ghostly images blur upon my sight
Hollow gestures I once thought were true
Tensed, I point my abandoned heart at you.
