Just One More Drink

A doll lay on the ground with smudge on its face in glare off head lights seems
so out of place. The smell of burnt rubber fills the air as the scene invokes a
horrifying stare. Time has stopped for a moment in the world as I view the
lifeless
body of a pretty little girl. In the longest minute I think about the lesson when
everyone weeps at the funeral precession. Family in sorrow as they try to
decipher why an innocent life was ended by an intoxicated driver. All could have
been avoided we would like to think but he had to have just one more drink. Only
the days can tell how long we mourn the life the gift the day she was born.
Pray the mother pray the father for your baby is gone but in your memories and
thoughts she will forever live on.

Taste of Eternity

The sound of classical music heard from a far, the smell of a fresh spring day,
beauty born on the beach of heavens shore to me that’s what you are. Time
stops when I hold you close like a fine wine you sip, the winds give me
permission to kiss your angel lips. I stop for a moment I hate dreams like this
one day I will awake until the next time I sleep. But no it’s not a dream I thank the
stars for it is true I am married to a princess and Khadijah she is you. Men
through
the ages fight wars for wealth, and dignity, I will fight to have you by my side for
the rest of my life. That is my taste of eternity. Believe these words for they are
spoken by the son of man. I will love you until the end of all days forever in my
heart you will stand.

Boyz

Boyz

Looking at you I see myself, young playful and full of pep.
With little brown eyes and a big imagination you bring a smile to my face in any
situation. God bless me with you. A gift that can never be topped. I am so happy
you are my son and elated that I am your pop. I give you my love my wisdom and
pride.I will be with you in spirit for the rest of your life. When ever I am not around
and you want me near I wont be far away just look in the mirror.

Explosion

My mind exploded today now there are thoughts everywhere. As I pick up the
pieces I find memories cold lost and bare, some were dreams that were once at
an arms reach and others just fantasies of the poetic justice I felt I must teach.
As I put them back together and resurrect my past I see my life as a younger man
not beat up depressed or sad I see strength determination and passion. A driven
force with a deliberating touch of action. I see hurdles jumped problems solved a
strong heartbeat and most of all. Pride in my ability to dream. Pictures of
yesterday lay all about as tears creep from my eyes. Remembering the man I
was I see time passing me by. My mind exploded today. Watch your step I am
searching for long lost friends I am searching for my dreams.
