All In a Day

Oh!
The child fell on the head,
Cracked it open, now it's dead.
Who cares, we'll make another set
and just as soon are out to get
A fev'rish room "to let'
Which features a big double bed.
And then, another one is dead.
But what's it all to us?
All we do is ride the bus
and care about no hungry fuss
like dumbstruck people do.
"But hey, they ain't got you"
I say and cuddle closer by
You look at me and sigh
"You sure this ain't a lie?"
"Uh-"
Teling you it's not I try
to cure myself from smiling wry
"I'm your's, forever am I thy"
I cry but all I get is no reply.
Now, that's ok, in some strange way,
because you smile at all I say
(someone help me to understand women, please!)
And so we're waiting for another day
And pray the bed is free from fleas.
We had it cleaned by flea police,
But that's a long way back.
However, we're in luck
and love. And all along
The angel practices it's song,
Trying to get less notes wrong
And slowly he succeeds in it.

Goddess of Light

Patience left me at supper,
Fools entered my head
Poison's in a cup, a
slow and deadly thing to get

Goddess of light surrounds
The table with glowing eye
On dwarf as horse she mounts
Gives me time for one last cry

Then she speaks with fierce command
I listen up in silent fear
She says the end is close at hand
Can I hear it coming near?

"Why?" I ask in trembling voice
A smile appears on face of light
"You left us little choice,
Since you are in full command of
every line you write."

"You've reached the limit any man may ever reach
No chance for us to spoil your way
Nothing left for us to teach."
That is what I heard her say.

I gulped, and laughed, and died
Right there at the table.
During supper, during night.
Never knew I'm able.

Another Day

And as he went away,
the children didn't laugh
and didn't play.
Upon their faces teardrops lay,
for he would not return this day.

Time Tells Tall Tales.
Tallest of them all, it's absolute!
As in the shadows sunshine lay asleep,
There's nothing to be feared in passing.
The hours of the day are just amassing,
'cause there is no-one left to call them back
and age is less than just good luck;
it's will and braving wantonness -
oh, life is such a mess!

So he went away.
One might say, his way's astray,
But, truly, it's the only way
to reach his home.
He didn't need a sterling throne
To rest his head, to cure his bone,
Eventually, that's all just overthrown
And life is lived another day,
another day.
Another day...

And then!
The old men laughed and played
And smiles upon their faces stayed
For his arrival was no more delayed.
And as he came
And sunshine passed the rain
They knew their tears where cried in vain.

Instrumental Brake

Let's see what we can do with this
the struggles all supposed to be in bliss,
we know that none of this we'll miss
once we're leaving for the promised land.
But then again it's close at hand
that you might play another band
tomorrow.
But oh - who cares 'bout what's to come
when what we need is not yet gone
and what we want is short a song?
Come on, let's light another fire
and take our dreams a little higher.
You look at me with stary eyes,
I feel quite taken by surprise
as you speak these words I summarize:
"I think we'll take
A thoughtful
Instrumental brake."

Undaunted Mission

This is not my place
But anyways.

A strangely unrewarding
Chain on my door.
What is it that I'm guarding,
What's the trouble all for?

Smoke
fills
rooms
Like ivory in tombs
We wouldn't be depressed
If it weren't
For the best.

Foamless steel
Stain-filled bubble bath
Bought for the price of a meal
Sould for a laugh.

And so we travel on
The goodies always gone.

Alas!
I say
My head I'll lay
No dogs do stray
No mines we lay
I'm wishing for a way -

But the wishing well's run dry.
And so you shudder and I cry,
'At least we've been passed by
The fortunes that don't lie.'

And then, you have a vision
Of a man who's screaming
"Intermission!"
And his eyes are beaming
With precision.

And so we laugh and share a cigarette.
This is just as good as it will get
If you go outside you will get wet
Eventually...

Minds gray,
Thoughts sharp
We'll best be on our way
As the angel plays a harp
But hits the wrong notes.

What's it for
What's it about?
In friendship we've no doubt.
So don't go knocking on my door,
As I won't knock in turn.
Since walls cling
But doorbells ring
And fires always burn...

Move On

Move on!
The train is standing at the station;
You're still waiting with that terrible hesitation.
Move on.
You better be coming along;
For, this dream is up and gone.
Move on...
