How You Showed Me Love

I might have been a child but it wasn't until
I knew how to dream that I felt real
All the good things, and the bad
Helping me smile when I was shy

I was alive from the vibes you gave me
Taking your time
so I could see the truth.

How you showed me love
I remember everything you did

And every face you played
Affects the way I play
I learnt to live your way
Every day, Every day

I might have been alone, and never found
Talking to a wall, or I coulda drowned
Weighing up blame
Stirring up hate, shouting you down

But you kept giving me time
Watching my feet, making drum beats
When i fall, i don't frown

How you showed me love
I remember everything you did

And every face you played
affects the way I play
I learnt to live your way
Every day, Every day

oh, try, try, try again
The look in your eyes as you waited for me
Taking your time, so I could see the truth.

How you showed me love
I remember everything you did

And every face you played
affects the way I play
I learnt to live your way
Every day, Every day

Blue Rainbow

In response to 'paint me a rainbow' by nicola byrne

Golden eye and crescent nerve.
The rainbow hides, he doesn't like
to be disturbed.
He's actually a bit perturbed.
The people gaping from behind
and every angle wide.
You have to pay for pictures blue
and colours frosted in the nude.
The rainbow waits in turn for you
to show him curves for him to perv.

Flood My Words

Time and rhyme, from somewhere it will shine.
Time and rhyme, will sometimes, be mine,
and when it does, it makes me high.
I want you to feel my long lasting sigh.

Please lie with me and taste these letters.
Make it better. Drink, and utter sounds that
make my lips feel like butter.

I think of you and purposely I try to flutter.
Float ideas and kiss your mind so much it floods
my words with thoughts that matter.

Lend me ears, and lend me eyes to
dream your face, and dream your thoughts
seduce you wet, untidy, naughty,
even though we never met.

The Story Teller

She moves in red and lights the room.

They see her hair in bloom, not wasting flames in doom her voice is meant to show the moon is out to play the night until, until, the end is soon, but keeps them wanting thrills and chills, of stories told.

They hang on utters, baiting flutters, heartfelt words of bread and butters, oaked in solid earthern golds enriching minds with finds of old.

They listen to her plays that make them wait and wait, red phoenix til its late.

She holds them close til darkness passes, rapt in words she moves their glasses, worlds of art she paints the path, those stories to oasis.

Momentary Bliss

Two can make the love of dreams
when they are passing wines

Two can sit on languid times
when they have nothing left to pine

There's nothing left that we can do
beside the separation of the glue

Until the magnet pulls us back
and absence gives us slack

The salt of moments mixing cup
and sweeter touches timed to act

Roads and winters waiting up
that hold of love that wins the tact

The fresh, the fire, winning cracks of
our desire rushing back

We come again to find ourselves
entirely without our heads

...and summer beats again our hearts
to live like this, this momentary bliss

Running Out of Rhyme

I used to move as fast as cars
runways built in space and mars.
I would dart as far as I could trace
the words moving off the chart

Every other sound that rhymes
Feels like argh, I paint a corner squiggle
argh, I’m bankrupt, gridlocked power struggle
argh no way out of a jigsaw puzzle

Stopped and bound, inside my head
as round as this machine could bleed
My life into moving tree -
BANG! Bark and Fire Stark!

I awake inside a maze
Forest lost to the barren dark
Mixing things that didn’t mix
Stories I couldn't fix,

I felt a apart
I couldn’t even paint an argh
no where left but something leapt
Silent meaning had effect

Movement kept me on a stretch
where rhymes were just erect -
waving signs above my head,
hard and fixed, solid bricks

I really wanted sounds and tricks,
clever tips and catchy bits
songs that keep me in a fix
Kungfu, water, flowing bliss

Then words fell off the page again
I was back it didn’t matter
rhymes could be like fish batter
but narrative was fatter!

Serious Time

I haven't filled my serious quota.
I have been having lots of fun.
I have been spending the afternoon
in food that helped my sides balloon.
and jokes that kept on coming fast
they made me hurt from all the laughs

I should be quiet now, because
the patterns of my childhood past
instil me to be careful now
protect the status quo from over flow
those risky people, in their joy
embracing all their toys

Normally I am safe, because I limit all the joy
to once a day, and once at night
but if I do go over this
I feel the guilt, that pain I saw,
the screams endure me to my bed
from mother crying through the day
and father shouting in dismay

So now I carry all this weight,
from years beyond, towards the end
until the fun is squeezed and love is
but a moments feast.
If i was someone else, perhaps I'd tell myself
"forget yourself, and be anew"
but I am scared I'll hurt someone
if always having fun.

Flavour Till I'M Fat

The flavour sits inside my mouth and onions linger, waiting.
Am I hungry, am I waiting?
What I've eaten tastes amazing.
Eating more repeats the craving.

Salt and fat and sugar bits, a feast of nibbles keep me waiting.
What to do and what to chew? It’s never ending sating.
Is my gut decided yet? How can I stop eating?

Maybe I should drink a lick and make it quick, so feeling fat won't stick.
Eating, eating all day long, will it make me sick?

What to do and what to chew? I'm not hungry, I’m just craving! Flavours waiting!
I can sit and savour this, observing, slowing, pausing time, and writing it in rhyme.

We Move and We Grow

I want you to glow.
I love when in winter it snows,
and days become dark,
while we find our way home.

I want you to know,
that despite we were wandering
through blizzards and fog,
we move and we grow.

I want you to show me,
when you're cold and your lonely,
will you love and then hold me
while we find our way home?

I want you to flow,
enjoying our moments
as much as we can, while we
move and we grow.

I Found a Piece of Calm

I found a piece of calm somewhere
I don't remember when
It held me in its arms sometime
when life was in a spin

I must have learnt to hold myself when worlds were clashing in
I must have kept my head above the water of the pain
No longer can I know for sure when it was I wept
And died in humble pain until I shed my skin

People tell me I am lucky when they're suffering
Watching they're anxiety expressed in every whim
The pattern goes the same again exhausting time to win
It seems unfair and makes me feel for them.

I guess we have to graduate to conquer that within
the patterns just keep ticking by until we learn
to slow acceleration of the feelings we make win
