Living With Lupus

Living with Lupus

Today is not a good day for me.
My lupus is making me feel bad, I hurt all over.
My face feels like it is on fire from the inside out.
My arms and shoulders hurt to touch, please don’t hug me.
If for some reason if I hit myself the pain is so bad, tears will come to my eyes and it will make me go to my knees.
No one knows the pain or how I feel, even if you have lupus.
No two people are the same.
Having lupus for over fifteen years taking medication it still doesn’t stop me from getting sick.
My friends and family have seen me at my worse.
I can’t enjoy the beach the sun makes it worse; the heat will make me sick.
If I get too hot in stores I have to leave. No matter what I do this disease changes everything in my life.
You may feel good when you wake up, and as the day goes on you are tired and weak.
Making plans for any occasion is hard.
Living with Lupus is very hard.

Did You Ever Really Love Me

Did You Ever Really Love Me

Did you ever really love me?
When you said all those things to me in bed while we
where making love.

Did you ever really love me?
When you touched every inch of my body.
Kissed me so passionately that we became one together.

Did you ever really love me?
When you got down on one knee and asked me to marry you.
I was so happy. All the plans, we made together.

Did you ever really love me?
I guess you didn’t, because it was just a game to you.
When you left me at the
Church with our family and friends.
Years have passed and still
I have wondered.
“Did you ever really love me?”

I Didn'T Mean To

I Didn’t Mean To

I didn’t mean to make you mad;
the bruises will go away soon.
I didn’t mean to break the window, with the ball.
My arm will heal in about six weeks.
I didn’t mean to walk in on you and your boyfriend in the bedroom.
 I thought you were alone.
The doctor said, I would heal in a few weeks,
but he wanted to know who did this to me.
I wouldn’t tell him,
I love you unconditionally.

I didn’t mean to lie,
Why did you let him hurt me so bad?
Why did you let him just throw me away like
I was a bag of trash over the side of the road?
My body is numb
My soul is no more.
I didn’t mean to,
My love was unconditionally for you.

Thankful For You

Thankful for You

I am so thankful for having you in my life.
You have shown me that life is too short to be alone.
To slow down and enjoy time with the one your heartaches for,
Don’t hold back when you are together,
to let go enjoy every moment.
You have touched my heart in a way that no one has never before.
I thought that my heart could never love again, it had been walked on, and broken so many times that I was not going to be hurt anymore, so I closed it up from pain.
Slowly you held my heart close to yours and loved me.
I am so thankful for you, for your understanding,
I am thankful for your trust and honesty
Most of all I am thankful for the
Love you give me every day and night that
we are together and apart.
“I am so thankful to have you in my life.”

Bed of Roses

Bed of Roses

As he laid her to rest in the Bed of Roses.
He thought back to the day he started the first rose bush for her
and everyone after that.
He bought each color for a different reason.
Red for the loved they shared.
Yellow was for friendship that they had.
Purple for the passion between them,
White for the purity for the day they were married,
So many more color for so many reasons throughout, their lives,
There were hundreds of roses.
I remember the time I laid her head gently down on the bed of
rose’s petals the first time I touched
Her face was as soft as the silk petals on the roses that surrounded us.
His touch made her want him more and more. The closer he was the
more she could feel his hardest wanting her
Till there love exploded.
Gently he took her ashes and dusted the roses one last time.
As he laid her to rest,
In the
                                              Bed of Roses

Spring Is Here

Spring Is Here

The flowers are blooming.
The yard is cut and trimmed just how you like it.
Daddy painted the house.

Mom, can you see down from heaven? Everything looks nice, but, Mom, there is one thing missing, and that is you.

Dad is still sitting on the porch in that old chair taking naps.
The outside of the house looks just like you like it,
            But,
The inside is missing the smell of your cooking, your voice, and most of all you.
We can still see the visual of you going through the house.
The smell of your perfume in the distance.
We know you are in Heaven, and one day we will see you again, and hear
your voice once again.

Spring is Here but without you.

He Tells Her

He Tells Her

He tells Her I Love You my darling.
more and more each day how is this possible
He says? To love someone more
than you did the day before.
She says, Honey, I don’t know
But I feel the same, my Love
Grows for you each day.

Many times in a day. He tells her.
“Sweetheart I love you.”
Do you really understand,
How much I really do love you?
She says, Yes I really do.
How can three little words,
I LOVE YOU means so much.
Darling never forget my love is forever..........

Gates of Heaven

Gates of Heaven

As I stand in front of the gates of heaven.
I think to myself do I belong here?
Have I done enough good in my life to enter into heaven?
Did I ask God, to forgive me for my sins?
Did I do what I was supposed to do?
God sees all and knows all. When you get to gates of heaven there is no lying, or saying I don’t know,
or I forgot. He knows everything.
There in the shadows above the gates, I could see a tall man,
With long wavy hair.
In the distances, I could hear his voice it was very deep and stern.
Thinking to myself, no matter what you have done for others, or given? No matter how much money or wealth you have. It will not get you into heaven.
You have only one way, and that is to ask, God to forgive you for all you sins.
Did I do this? “Yes”
Did I believe he was in my heart? “Yes”
As I looked again,
The Gates of Heaven were open, and a voice said to me, enter my child.
To the house of the Lord.

Long Stem Red Rose

Long Stem Red Rose

It was her favorite
she was going to use them
in her wedding.
But today we are laying them
on her grave,
Why do things like this happen?
to such a beautiful young lady.
Why did she take her own life?
What caused her to change?
They said, in the room where she was found
there were long stem red roses everywhere.
There was one rose with a note,
He laid, cheated, stole
and most of all he was married.
I am tired, I most go now.
Let him live with it.

Going Home

Going Home

The smell of vanilla and cinnamon coming from the kitchen
The glitter of lights reflecting off the tree,
The ornaments from years gone by,
The packages all wrapped neatly with matching bows, placed evenly around the tree.
Mom’s best china and linens on the table.
The centerpiece made of roses, berries and greenery with her best crystal in the middle.
The reflection of the candlelight shining so bright makes the table glow as if it was a star in the sky on a dark winter night.

Pulling in the driveway, I knew the house was warm and cozy. Mom was standing at the door watching for each one of use to drive up.
The smoke coming from the chimney, the smell of the wood, I knew I was home for Christmas one more time.
