One Liners 7

I was here by Lady Antebellum

I hold the pencil of choices and I intend to leave my mark on the paper of the world.

Just One More Day

Just One More Day

If I could see you just one more day,
I'd plead for you to tell me all you have to say.

Every insight deep in your soul,
I'd have you write down and I'd keep it in a bowl.

It would be like a moment of the past,
though this moment would forever last.

We would do all that we never got around to pursuing,
you and me would waltz the museum of the world and do all the viewing.

We would sit down at a cafe in Paris, France,
and talk about all we never got the chance.

We would round the bend of the Seine river and stand,
blue water reflected in our eyes as we held each other hand in hand.

To Africa we'd go to watch the giraffes and zebras prance,
and then to the Rocky Mountains where we above the clouds could glance.

And at the end of the day as the skies were enveloped in stars,
you'd give me all your love so I could place it in glass jars.

The Lone Boy

As I sat on the cold metal bar,
the sounds of my friends faded out of my radar.

I observed the boy in the discolored yellow hat who didn't want to disappoint,
crouching with his head tilted to a certain point.

He had intense brown eyes the color of a baseball mound,
and unlike the others never made much of a sound.

On one hand he wore an old brown mitt,
which most likely had been his father's and didn't quite fit.

I couldn't tell you if he could hit or throw,
whether he was fast or slow.

If he had any loved ones cheering in the park,
or whether he had a known trademark.

All I know is he stood out that much was clear,
with his determined expression and it being his first year.

He crouched in wait the last in the player line,
hoping one day he'd have his moment to shine.

More Than a Doll

In the 4.5 billion years this earth has been alive
I have and will in comparison be around a short time.
The footprints I have made will eventually cease to exist
and I will be nothing more than a name on a list.
You and me both are a victim of time,
that thing that never stops oh what a crime.
As the ball drops and the new year starts
I will say my resolution most dear to my heart.
You see my resolution this year is the biggest of all
the resolution to be more than another doll.

Christmas Waltz Poem

Love
Christmas
is
giving
cherishing
baking
warm
blankets
fireplaces
photography
family
shining
lights
snowing
evergreens
laughter
joy
smiling
love
