Black Lives Matter

Black Lives Matter

They gave me a college education
But left me unemployed
But they say
Black lives matter
I won 7 Grammy awards
I didn't get a ceremony to recognize my work
But they say
Black lives matter
I have Foodstamps
But no refrigerator to store the food in
Or pots and pans to cook on a stove not even utensils or a plate to place my food on
But they say
Black lives matter
I receive a disability check for 2000 dollars a month
But I don't have a place to live
But they say
Black lives matter
I served my country for 8 year in the military
And I am living on the streets
But they say
Black lives matter
I'am a military vet
And I still did not receive health treatment
But they say
Black lives matter
My best friend name is Maria Marshall she got beat down by the cops
But they say
Black lives matter
Bloods and the Crypts are black gangs on my block and everyday they are shooting at each other
But they say
Black lives matter
At the end of night
I go to sleep black
And I wake up black
I shed the same red blood like every
minority group
Black lives are still ignored
Let me paint my face white
Will I still matter now
Nope

P.S. I wrote this poem for another poetry group that I'am with.
I thought I share it with you! I don't usually write poetry about issue around the world. But I had some poetry readers who requested for me to write about issue around the world. Stay tune for my new poem called Deadbeat system! Deadbeat system poem is about the little things that can affect individual and the harm that cut backs do to individuals around the world.

Banging My Forehead Against the Bible

Banging my forehead against the Bible
I don't want to blame nobody
 I can't even blame myself
I hope God you hear my call
but you never seem to be on time when I need you today God
Today I decided to put on the red lipstick and the red dress and stuck my
leg out and let 10 men pulled up and do what they wanted
 I made 20,000 that night
 Yeah it hurt God
But I called you and still no answer
Again God you where late
 Thy shall not Prostitute
One of your commands that's not listed for people to see
Today I went to church and ask for help and they could not help
Once again I called on you
and you still did not answer
I even took the time to read the Bible
 Still no answer from you
I'am sitting here with 20,000 in my pocket
Today I decide to go get something to eat
A lady approach me and said
Did your God help you yet
 That hurt God
You could of warned me that she was going to say those harsh words
So I left and ate dinner at another places
Today I called on you again
 and no answer
 I waited waited and waited
 for you to answer
So today I decide to become a drug dealer
My first day I made 2,000
The second day I made 5,000
The third day I made 30,000 dollars
I went to church on Fourth day and prayed
Again still no answer from you
I love you God even when you didn't answer
I know you can also be a jealous God
I just wanted tell you that
there's no need to be jealous of me
because you are the one who made me
In the Bible it states that you love all sinners
I have a question for you God
 Do you still love me
 Now that I'am a sinner

Mirror of Life

I am standing in the bathroom looking out the window
looking at a mirror of myself pinned on bulletin billboard across the street
what God created
I must admit that I am pleased with the outcome
Because it could be worst
Two sides of creations
One God made
Second profile that I created of myself on earth
I am please with both accomplishments
Life is what you make of it
It could be worst
I have the right to tell
you politely to take the right door and stay out of my life
Freedom of speech
Some say watch what you
say to certain extent
So what's the since of
having this amendment if I still
have to watch what I say
Humans can make mistakes
Humans can also correct there mistakes
Humans can choose to move on to the future
Only you can change your own direction in life
I said only you can change your direction in life
Pick up those bags of past stones
Demolish them forever forever forever

Writers Cramp Player Haters

I can write for days
Keep on planting trees trees trees
Tell the world not to run out of seeds
That paper is useful
I write with it
Not a single writer's cramp  live in my body I can write for days
So tell the writers cramp player haters to watch out
what you say about me
because now you hitting up my line asking for advice
I can write for days
so watch out what you say about me
No single writers cramp live in my body
Hitting them from left and right
By the morning time I wrote a thousands more poems
You can never stop me
Its even worst that you trying to have skills like me
You can never beat me
This gift was embedded
Keep on writing
I let you know if you can ever ever reach my level
Mean while keep on watching
You know the old saying
Practices makes perfect
Writers cramp player haters stay away from me
Don't even try to waste your time
Trying to get like me
I can write for days so watch out what you say
You hitting my line for advices

Pray On It

I can't love you
If you still in love with her
It's time for you to make your mind up
You either in love with me
or you in love with a ghost love from the past
She parted the earth a long time ago
You say you ready
But I can see it in your eyes
and the conversation that you spitting
you not
Ready to move on
Your heart stuck on a
 ghost love from the past
I'am not here to help you make up your mind
You either with reality
or with the past
If you stuck
Pray on it
Only God can lead you to the right direction
Pray on it
You know where I'am at
when you ready
Just pray on it...

Human Trafficking Has No Name

That's somebody's mother
That's somebody's sister
That's somebody's brother
That's somebody's grandmother
That's somebody's grandfather
That's somebody's aunt
That's somebody's uncle
That's somebody's cousin
That's somebody's dad

See human trafficking has no
Age
Color
Size
Shape
Gender
Name

Does not even matter
it will sneak up on a individual without a warning
It can appear anywhere
School
Work
Park
Library
Mall

Does not matter what time of day
Morning
Noon
Night

It's best to just stay in the house but even that's not safe
Human trafficking can appear
Anywhere
Anytime
Anyplace

Jealous Hood Rat

There a jealous hood rat in are neighborhood
If you expecting me to call you a man I can't
because your attitude speaks for itself
Theres a jealous hood rat in the neighborhood
and it's you with your fake toy gun
and your cheap flip phone
Showboating all across the world not knowing when you going to settle down
Dipping in and out every females house
not knowing where to lay that hat down
Hood rat when you going to settle down
You need to stop playing with those little girls and deal with a woman
Because Iam a real woman who don't deal with fake boys who carry around squirt gun
I need a real man to take good care of me
Little boy move on
 Go play on another playground
because this here is somebody else turf
Theres a jealous hood rat in are neighborhood
and it you
with your fake $ 99.00 dollar fake chromes on your buggy automobile and your fake air Jordans
shoe are not real because every step you make
Your shoes scream out why don't this hood rat buy some real shoes
I don't deal with hood rats that wear long stain shirts that look like a gown
I don't deal with hood rats that smell like a skunk from cheap cologne
I don't deal with hood rats who teeth look like green mold
Skedaddle poo poo boy

The Final Breath

As the flight attendant made the accouncement that this plane is going down
I took one last look at him
Not knowing it be the last time I see him again
My feet froze to the ground
but in my mind
I want to get up and run run run
but where where where
I look up to the celling and look out the window for the last time
I turn and looked at him in his eyes and told him I love you
and if either one us don't make it
don't you grieve
don't you die
don't fall apart because I'am not near your side
I held his hand tight as we went down down down
I felt the loud crash as the plane hit the ocean floor
 I closed my eyes
I felt my life fading away
  I blacked out
My hand slipped out of my partner hand
I try to gasp for air but nothing
 water filled my lungs
I knew this was it
My life flash in front of my face
things you see before you walked into the light
I was hoping the hand of God would catch me and my man before the final breath
But if it's time to go
Then it's time to go

Dear Fruit Fly

Dear Fruit Fly

I don't like you
I can't stand you
Everywhere I go
You seem to be there
Staring me in my face
waiting for me to turn my back
so you can steal the food from off my plate
but today you really strike a nerve when you snatch my Eggo
That was my blueberry Eggo waffles
You and your compadres have to go
I had a enough
so here is a bus ticket
find somebody else home you can invade
Please fruit fly go away
You have over stayed your welcome

Bubble Gum

Thu, Feb 11, 2016 08:05 AM
Subject: Poetry by Shaniki Smith 2-11-2016

Bubble Gum

Leave that 25 cent
cheap bubble gum in the
 toy candy machine
I had to pass you the bubblicious
and juicy fruit because
by the end of the day you will need a wrigley's
spearmint for that bad breath
I had to put that under control
here is some freedent gum also
to put that dragon breath in captivity
no sense of you sentence
innocent people deaf
That is some foul mess
Your breath smell so bad
I thought I heard my own shadow
slandering my name behind my back
put that halitosis under control
mouth wash
drinking water
soda
juice
will not mass that odor away
keep that bad breath away that some stinky stinky mess
here is some advice
make a dentist appointment
