The Battered Wife

If only it was a fantasy
A nightmare not reality
If only monsters were marked
So we could stay far far away.

In sickness and in health but this wasn’t there
Long are the days of the dark alley
If only walls had ears
I would tell it to grow arms.

For what are ears but years of torture
So if wishes were horses
I would be a stallion
To ferry you from that ring.

I hope he loves you; like really!
Not like crazy that’s unhealthy
Not to the moon; just where you are.
Then you will find peace and comfort

For there is no comfort
In the arms of a chair
There is no peace
In the silence of a home.

I pray that God protects you
From the enemy within
For the enemy without
Can do you no harm!

Family

If good gods got a great heart
Why do innocent kids get hurt
If we are to live life with lots of laughter
Why do orphans get families after their slaughter

I try not to get emotional
Its hard having nothing at all
But If I were an orphan
Tell me you would blow my pain

Blow it bit by bit or in a burst like a bomb
or like a super fan with a fan mum
Like water is searched for by a lily
All they want is a family

A brother to pave the pitter-patter like peter pan
A sweet sister seemingly sent from heaven
A heavily heartly hearted father
A mother like you; like no other

If orphans had you
Like a shepherd has an ewe
Then a little brighter stars would twinkle
And their lives have a little more sparkle

So I thank God for the gift I have
somewhere to go before Christmas and Easter eve
And I hope they get a place they can finally;
Even by second chance; call home, call family!

The Real World

Welcome to the real world
where Cinderella has six inch stilettos
and carries flat shoes just in case
where Rapunzel is shaved
or has short hair due to split ends
where sleeping beauty has mints
just in case you want to kiss her
where snow white has no animals
so she sings in the shower
where Tiana kisses many frogs
hoping one will give her a Tiara
Where kingdoms are rooms
And palaces are a pile of sheets.

Welcome! Where Prince charming is
Anything but a prince
Charming is his string of lies
Where the knight is courageous
only under the influence
And his shining armour
is but a cracked personality
And the only protection
He offers is rubber.

So welcome! To the real world
Where the world is unfair
Yet it is fair
For it is unfair to everyone
Welcome to the real world
Where happy ever after
Is only found in Jesus! Peace!

We Are Me

If you think I am rude
Then I am!
If you think I am polite
Then I am!
If you think I am silent
But of cos I am!
If you think am talkative
Then obviously I am!

I am in your mind
What you think I am
But all these I am
Only and only to your mind

For we are a sea of emotions
Depends with where you fish
We are a rainbow of colours
But everyone is colour blind to a colour
We are a gush of wind
Call it a breeze or a tornado
We are earth with highs and lows
And you can see only one at time
We are tangled wires
Wanting to be untangled
We are misunderstandings
Wanting to be understood
We are a people
Living in a person
We are me!!

To My Daughter

I hope you get a good man
But dont ignore the bad
Cause you live with the angel and the devil
And the devil will always be a problem
So take your time

Am not sorry I brought you into this world
It's a joy to have you
You are a blessing
And I hope everyone sees that

But not every will see that
Not everyone really wants to know, love & appreciate you
Not everyone you love is good enough
Not everyone who loves you deserves a chance
So take your time

Don't get into these competitions on media and all
of butts, boobs, skin tone and complexion
Its reduces a lady to just a body
And I hope everyone sees that

I hope you find love
The kind of love that gets you high
But more than that, I hope you find respect
For what is love without respect
So take your time

I hope he gives you freedom
That he is intelligent and can handle his emotions
Say yes or no as you please. It is your right
And I hope everyone sees that

I hope I will be a good example to you
And my son, to the meaning of manhood,
Men of character, truth, valour, protectors and providers
Not abusers, monsters and sissy murderers
So take your time

I refuse to understand domestic violence
I refuse to understand why a man could kill you
I refuse to see this as a light issue, Life is sacred
And I hope everyone sees that

Heart

My heart is not for giving
My heart is for "the taking"
So steal it
But with stealth, try cripping
For if I notice you stealing
I am lethal at defending

My heart is not for taking
My heart is for "the giving"
So give me quality time
sweet nothings and sweet loving
And nothing else i will be taking

My heart is not for breaking
If thats your plan keep walking
Its not made of stone
Its not an object for decorating
My heart is simply for loving

But mainly its just for pumping
My heart is not for fixing
Its doesn't have mechanical issues
But try your luck, maybe pampering
Then give it time it knows healing.

Last Day

If Today was my last day
If my eyes were to never see
The beauty of the moon again
If the sun was to set
Set with my life with it.

Would the kiss of the sun
Feel different on my skin
Would the touch of the wind
Be welcomed or would I just cover my eyes
Would the world feel alive in my dying moments?

Would time move slowly with a drag
or will it drag me with a rush
Would i be proud of all i have done
Or would i pack my dream in a case
And wait to be packed in a casket?

Would I rush to the person
That my eyes have courageously studied
Yet my lips refuse to form words next to
Would I confess my undying love
In my dying moments?

Would I rush to friend and foe
To apologise,i did wrong to both
Would I pray like a dying man
To fool the good Lord
That I am a changed person?

Would the world feel this loss
Would the trees turn grey
Would they shed their leaves
Would the sky also be gloomy and weep
Would Tomorrow remember?

No! I would do no such things
Neither will such things happen
For we are grains in time
Just waiting for our time
And the world must continue.

Black

She said she's not dark
She said she's black
A bright soul in a black skin
She was in a dark world!

They said black is beauty
They said she's a black beauty
But men only want her in the dark
She was in a dark world!

They said they want a down to earth lady
But how do you become one
When everyone comes from a different world
she was in a dark world!

She never wanted to be a fantasy
Men have fantasies; then they have life
She wanted to be someone's life even when
She was in a dark world!

She now lives in a world brightened by her smile
Full of colour and life and pomper
Her own world where no one says
She's in a dark world!

So if you want; Go get her
She's an African lady
She's a black Queen
She's never in a dark world!!
