A Painted Smile

We can paint a picture bright,
to keep all sadness out of sight.
To hide from those held dear,
to full of joy appear.

An insecurity so deep,
afraid of others seeing us as weak.

Our emotions we attempt to hide,
but they are strong inside.
Instead our feelings we suppress,
causing endless stress.

Feelings have thoughts that manifest without doubt,
but it's not always convenient to let them out.

Use any means possible that brings you comfort and ease,
write in a diary, or go swinging from trees.

To talk of them freely takes courage and understanding,
have faith that the whole world is not into branding.

Silent As the Moon Yet Strong As An Ox

Fear not it's strength by any means.
Let there be laughter and sharing of pleasure.

May the silences be golden riches full of wisdom and thought.

Yearn to be each others mirror,
the reflection that reoccurs.

A fine wine that’s enjoyed with maturity.

A pure gold that delights in a troubled fire.

What Is Normal Anyway?

I spend many days contemplating all kinds of things,
My own inner thoughts,
life and all that it brings.

Do i think freely? Am i controlled?
By all that has made me,
what ive been tought and what ive been told.

From all the days i spend wondering, i reach no conclusions,
i guess thats just life, full of confusuions.

The key is to divert from all that is grim,
to take life as it comes,
to take knocks on the chin.

When you feel issolated in all that you think,
take comfort from knowing so does the shrink.

It's a fact of life we all are unique,
we started as a mould but we found courage to speak.

Dont allow others to judge or think you insane.
Our minds are beautiful they should not feel restrain.

The world would be dull if we all were the same.
Strive to be different,
make it your aim!

Love For My Partner

Love is that feeling you get in your belly,
the feeling that makes you all weak,
makes your legs turn to jelly.

You know your in love when you do nothing but dream,
your mind becomes filled, and your smile has a beam.

I once had a hole that couldn't be filled,
i was crazy and wild, each day unfulfilled.

Now my today is tomorrow,
my future secure.
You make me so happy,
i know that for sure.

I have been things and seen many places,
but id still always pick you amongst all the faces.

Afternoon Drive

Did you ever drive miles and miles not knowing where you were going?
Was it for the feel of freedom or for the buzz of not knowing?

A bubble of security, a place to escape.
A time for reflection, a time to contemplate.

Your hands on the wheel, your travelling so fast,
the view constantly changing, each tree is your past.

It started in haste this journey of mine,
gave me great satisfaction and halted time.

But now the sky is much darker,
many lights brightly flee,
in the opposite direction, far far from me.

What did i flee from?
Was it so bad?
I was eager to go, so happy, so glad.

Maybe a moment to break my routine,
but things are not always as bleak as they seem.

Happiness

Happiness is the meaning and purpose of life.
An emotion desired by all,
mans great aim in life.

A state of being only you can create.
Don't wait on it from others or expect it from fate.

Happiness wont find you,
for you have to make it.
You choose to create, to spread and partake it.

An inner state of well being,
a sanction in life.
Appreciating what you have,
even your troubles and strife.

Our troubles help us build the character we are,
even the ones that seem so bizarre.

Hard to find but impossible to expect,
it takes lots of giving and time to reflect.

Make what we say, do and think all in tune,
for this life we have been given, ends far too soon.

Whatever our beliefs for beyond this existence,
don't dwell on the years, face with persistence

Fear

There is an emotion that is often well hidden.
We can hide it so well,
we feel it's forbidden.

To express of it freely would appear us too weak,
so we keep it inside us, leaving others to seek.

At times it is camouflaged, expressed by strange actions.
We create ways to hide it with the art of distractions.

Fear can be misjudged into something bad,
it can make you very anxious,
it can make you feel sad.

It's the oldest emotion known to mankind.
It's here to keep us moving,
keeps us active in mind.

Being frightened is an experience you cannot buy,
whether it be starting new relationships, or flying high in the sky.

Face fear as it finds you with courage and strength,
learn not to keep it way out at arms length.
