Afternoon Drive

Did you ever drive miles and miles not knowing where you were going? Was it for the feel of freedom or for the buzz of not knowing? A bubble of security, a place to escape. A time for reflection, a time to contemplate. Your hands on the wheel, your travelling so fast, the view constantly changing, each tree is your past. It started in haste this journey of mine, gave me great satisfaction and halted time. But now the sky is much darker, many lights brightly flee, in the opposite direction, far far from me. What did i flee from? Was it so bad? I was eager to go, so happy, so glad. Maybe a moment to break my routine, but things are not always as bleak as they seem.
