Reese

Reese is a Hollywood star in demand
Southern belle mixed with, "Yes Ma'am"
Till she got pulled over
For driving not sober
And cried, "Don't you know who I am?"

Trump Trump Trump

Congratulations to Donald Trump
Who gave Hillary Clinton the dump
She looked as clueless as Forest Gump
As voters saw her as Obama's chump

Election night went bump bump, bump
Republicans began to jump, jump, jump
Democrats now in a slump, slump, slump
Their throats feeling a lump, lump, lump

Supporters of Donald shaking their rumps
From women who are pleasingly plump
To the proud soldier revealing his stump
Nary a reveler with the face of a grump

He managed to get over a critical hump
Speaking about women he wanted to pump
Turn up the volume, listen to the thump
Of our 45th president, Donald Trump

Kid Games Back When

KID GAMES BACK WHEN

Outdoor activities were once a staple
For children wanting to be a bit playful
This was way before X-box and Nintendo
We ran, jumped and learned how to throw

Could you ever forget Red Light/Green Light?
A game so simple but filled with delight
Or something so great as Riding Your Bike
Past the house of a girl you really like

Red Rover, Red Rover is a game too cruel
For today's over-protected Mom's to approve
Back then, it was just a game to play
We never thought of injuries in any way

Maybe we were living in jeopardy all the time
Trying not to fall during a Jumping-Rope rhyme
Our life was in grave danger playing Jarts
Dodging the tips of those steel pointed darts

Mom's today would not allow Hide-N-Seek
Children out of sight will cause them to shriek
Oh my god, the horror of the Pogo Stick
They'd be better off playing with an ice pick

I do like laughing at the overbearing mothers
They played these kid games as well as others
Maybe they forgot the fun of Hopscotch and Tag
Or the giggling joy of Capturing the Flag

To me the greatest kid games of all
Involved the skill of throwing a ball
Playing games like "500" and Horse
And let's not forget Whiffle Ball of course

All of these games were played outside
By generations of youngsters worldwide
Now no children play as I drive down the streets
Their youthfulness spent on computers and tweets

Old Age

OLD AGE

Do you ever wonder where the years have all gone?
The roller coaster ends and you hope to hop back on
We are older now and that thrill ride has passed us by
Should we cling to our memories or give it one more try?

Do we accept the achin' body and shortness of breath?
Our personal potholes are harder to miss near death
These are the physical demons we all face in our later years
Time is short now, being laid up for months is what we fear

When we're young, there is time to recover what's gone
When we're old, we're hoping to discover another dawn
We envy our kids because of their able-bodied youth
They care about us dearly, yet deny the senility truth

We never realize we're old until sickness or injury
It is at that very moment we picture life so vividly
The reds are redder, the blues are bluer, no reason to hate
Except the darks are now darker as we ponder our fate

We now question everything we have been taught
Is there a Heaven or Hell or is everyone just as lost?
When we get to this place, there really is no answer
It doesn't matter if you're dying from old age or cancer

The elderly are the new endangered life forms
Scientists creating drugs to combat our aging storms
We don't need drugs, we just want people to know we're here
Quit ignoring your elders, for we'll be the first to God's ear

Tearful Inside

tearful inside

as i crawl through phases
of my life's illusion
do i feel run over by stress
or is it just delusion?

why do i think getting ahead
serves no purpose
next week another calamity
will surely surface

depression lies deep inside as
problems mount
caused by relationships, family
or bank account

my worries run so deep, i can
never reveal my dread
pessimism surrounds each thought
in my pounding head

the trepidation i have invades
my judging ability
which causes me to act with
senseless hostility

the men in my family possess
no external emotions
so any allusion of struggle
will label me as broken

so i will suffer invariably
with forced laughter
while crying from the inside
for now and hereafter

Senseless

Senseless

ANOTHER DAY OF FOREBODING DOOM
ANOTHER SENSELESS MASS KILLING
WATCHING HORROR IN MY LIVING ROOM
ANOTHER DAY OF FOREBODING DOOM
BODIES LYING IN A BLOODY TOMB
THE FUTURE SCARY AND CHILLING
ANOTHER DAY OF FOREBODING DOOM
ANOTHER SENSELESS MASS KILLING
