Within the darkness comes the light
To save you from this dispiriting night
But as the light dims you lose your way
Knowing the darkness is where you stay
Since the selection until the end
The darkness within is where you have been
From the mazes and canals of your once great mind
Comes the fear of being left behind
You've seen motivation from family and friends
Why doesn't this darkness come to end
A blessing to someone who loves me dearly
To leave the darkness you must listen clearly

Who am I but a broken girl
With saddening thoughts and a shattered world
Through abuse through pain through depression it seems
This life I live is not for me
No suicidal thoughts but I don't like my life
It's time to change my life tonight
I want to live as free as a bird
I want to be free of all this pain and hurt
How do I let go of animosity
Towards my mother who never loved me
Time to let go of all this pain

It's like the devil to the mind and soul
No realistic chains but it has a hold
It can destroy the mind
Kill you dead then leave you behind
An early death to those within its chains
An for the family it causes pain
Tears will fall
There will be pain for all
But before this can end
You must destroy this trend
