Boipelo Mo Poem
The mirror is her worst enemy
Yet she looks at it everyday
The magazines girl so skinny
She wishes, starves and runs her weight down
Should she be this way?
Should she hate the mirror?
Why can't the mirror be her best friend?
She was told she's too fat
Loose weight, get taller wear make up
She was once a happy little girl
Until her smile was taken away
She now feels unwanted
And she doesn't know love
Her self esteem has reached her breaking point
And suicide was a choice she made

Boipelo Mo Poem
Its not her fault she's tall
She didn't choose that at all
Its not her fault she's round or skinny
She didn't choose that either
Its also not her fault she fell pregnant
It was a mistake
But you still judge her anyway
Don't do that,don't judge her
She's heard the cool kids call her names
She doesn't need that even with you too
They call her fat,ugly,pimple face
Or sometimes even tease her race
Its not fair she screams
Its not fair
There is no place for a girl like me
Do you know that she almost killed herself because of your silly comment?
Do you know your little joke was the reason for her depression?
So don't do that,No don't judge her
Instead help her,be there for her
Make her see another side to life
Don't judge her,its not her fault

Boipelo Mo Poem
Not everyone see it
Not everyone wants it
Dark skinned
Born with it
Bleach it
Looking in the mirror and sees no beauty
Look at her friend
And see her end
Won't be seen as pretty
What a pity
She cries cause she's dark
Her skin so african
So brown
So fair
She is a dark skinned girl
Her beauty conquers that of a pearl
Society claims she doesn't do it
So all they do is spit
Spit right in her face
Society says she's dark "how can she be beautiful"
And I say she is a dark skinned princess
Her beauty is priceless
Cause she has the beauty of a dark skinned girl

Boipelo Mo Poem
The more rooms we get
The more mirrors we see
The more judgement begins
It starts with you
You see yourself,looking good
Not knowing that exact comment
Is also considered a judgement
A term used when we hear "Mirror"
Is Reflection
What reflection do you see when looking in the mirrors
Do you see the same person you were at 6,11 or even 15?
Or do you see the future,seeing you as a doctor,a father,a mother,or a wife
Has it ever crossed your mind that these exact mirrors could be tinted with dust
The same dust that could reflect your path
The path you'll stumble upon
The path called life
Mirrors reflect your life

Boipelo Mo Poem
Is it fair that she calls me a bitch?
Is it fair that she calls me stupid?
Is it fair that she kicked me out and let me sleep outside?
All these things happened and it wasn't even my fault
She never let her son take blame just me
It would always be
You bitch! You Dumbass! You whore!
With tears in my eyes I'd mentally cuss her,I'd picture myself leaving the house, with a smile on my face I'd say I will be back in 6 years
My life looks so perfect from far
But as you walk closer, you realise..its all just a front
I'm tired of fighting I say,I'm tired of being the emotional punching bag
She treats me like she didn't give birth to me
Like I'm the reason for her misery
She says she loves me but I know for a fact that I hate her
She treats me like I'm not her youngest daughter
She said she wishes I die
That's something I needed to hear
After having a tough day at school
So I ask again...is it fair that I'm still alive?
Why am I alive?

Boipelo Mo Poem
Born was a lady on this day
A lady who never knew her way
Her way around the world of todayPShe had to fight, she had to pay
She paid a price No one can repay
Born was a leader on this day
A leader who was sent onto this world
To fulfil her purpose
Born was a beautiful lady
And she was ready
Ready to face new challenges
Ready to make new changes
And Ready to be herself
I am that lady
and I was born 10th July1998
