Riddle Me This, Riddle Me That

The greatest puzzle in the world
Is one in which must be mastered;
you are the only curator by far;
not family, friends, or the pastor.

The pieces belong where you place them.
This much is oh so true;
learn the pictures through time and save the memory
or woe will come to you.

By far you have a divine purpose
and the roles being played are clues;
reach out if you must to the powers that be
and go on however you choose.

The greatest mistake will be giving up;
Be joyous and carpe-diem!
Rewrite your own history and show your worth;
let the world be the coliseum!

The puzzle comes to an end you see
not when the pieces are all in place;
but when the hours of time rest forever
on the winning of your race.

The Greatest Puzzle In the World Is.......

The Cat and the Bird

It came out of nowhere, quick as a flash;
landing on the ground by a small piece of trash.
It happened all so fast that I didn't even notice;
the chances of survival were about to be hopeless.

The bird that flew by me was snatched up ahead
by the mouth of a cat, and I was sure it was dead.
I strolled on by, offering condolences to the bird
whose life was cut short by an animal that purred.

'He sure didn't put up a struggle', I thought;
Poor thing must have been shocked at how he got caught.
Taking a seat on the bench was rest time for me
but I was unaware of the show that I was about to see.

The cat had dropped the bird from its jaw
to prep the prey with the help of a paw.
But to my surprise a funny thing happened;
That bird was alive! I saw his wing flappin'.

The cat noticed, too and went for the kill;
But my new hero was not going against his will.
He flew in mid-air right on the cat's nose
and used his little claw to deliver several blows.

The cat was stunned and incidentally so was I;
That little bird fought back with vengeance in his eye!
I chuckled in silence as the bird flew away;
my hero will live to fight another day.

As for the cat his ego was bruised
 and having lost that battle he looked a bit confused.
His doubt may not let him try that stunt again
and he walked away slowly, taking one on the chin.

The situations we face whether big or small
will always come together if we give it our all.
I congratulate that bird as I raise my cup
because this is another reason why we should never give up!

A Day In the Life of My Work

The idea Is my alarm.
Inspiration is my coffee.
The thoughts are my morning commute.
The story is my work.
The pen is my voice.
The paper is my argument.
Imagination is my lunch break.
The plot is my boss.
The characters are my conversation.
The love is my relaxation.
The edits are my overtime.
The silence is my ride home.

The day may be over but
I am a writer. And my work is never done.

Glue

Krazy isn't it?

Resisting to separate from that which you are
Joined; you mend the pieces back together
With a bond so strong.

Super!

The heated tension of your warm molten ooze
Burns the fingertips if the
Temperature is just right.

Hot!

You form lifelong friendships with whatever you touch.

Epoxy, Cement, Gorilla, Elmer's; my bottle top's off to you!

Should there be any sticky situation, there you are.

Stay strong!

An Angry Poem

To the thief who stole my happiness,
I want it returned safe and sound.
You have caused my heart to be tainted with the ashes
of scorned roots of the ground.

My temper has devoured all sense of peace
 that my body and soul once knew.
My rage has taken off down the lane of despair
and there is nothing more I can do.

This is a poet's hour of interpretation
to seek all that he can find;
And the words will rise to conquer the thief
and win the battle of the mind.
