Dreaming of Space

Looking up at the stars at night,
Makes me feel such delight.
But I wonder what's beyond the dark,
That hasn't yet made its mark.

Maybe there are creatures,
Just like you and I.
Or maybe there are bright green aliens,
No one will ever find.

Will they like to go out
and play amongst the rock?
Or will they hate all other life,
And laugh and shout and mock.

For now though we don't know what's there,
That we are yet to see.
I just wish I had a rocket ship,
To take me to my dream.

Summer Holiday

6 weeks are here to enjoy,
Whilst summer rays glisten in our skies.
Sleeping under the stars at night,
Or staying up late in the moonlight.

The holidays bring fun and fear,
For those beyond the realms of school.
Envelopes opened, joys shared,
Or hearts left in disrepair.

The summer days won't last for long,
The clock is ticking fast.
Autumn bells are ringing soon,
The back, stuck in your class.

Searching For a Star

I know your plans seem far away,
Like the moon does on a summers day.
You can see your star up in the sky,
But as dawn breaks, your star does lie,
Amongst the clouds as rain does cry.

But all you need to do is build,
A rocket ship to outer space.
Immerse yourself in new beginnings,
As you live the dream beyond the clouds,
And find that place where sun does shine.

Friends

They come and go like autumn leaves,
Changing colour, falling to the ground,
But whilst they're there you trust their word,
And want to please the big head nerd.

The nerd, she likes to prove herself,
Despite her act as a muddled elf,
Though truth be told, she's insecure,
But her behaviour, I must endure.

I know these people come and go,
But sometimes I just want to know,
Who's there for me at a difficult time,
And who will leave me at the chime.

All That I Have

Button's in boxes,
You to relieve,
History and memories,
My heart on a sleeve.

Love and lust,
Sometimes hate,
Long silent nights,
Full of debate.

Bad times, Good time,
Times I adore,
Leave me wanting,
To give you more.

Dig deep and i know,
I will easily find,
Fresh love to give,
I know you won't mind.

I'm yours if you want me,
I give me to you,
My only possession,
With you now we've two.

Summer

Bright skies, gentle breeze,
Bathing lobsters in the seas.
Ice creams, juice and little rascals,
Jumping on dad's sandy castles.

Smells of sun cream, smells of sea,
Roasting nicely, you and me.
Bury Johnny up to his neck,
The turning "Quick, Oh heck!"

Mum and Dad relax and laze,
Recalling all their childhood days.
Simple free without a care,
Riding on the travelling fair.

Summer comes and summer goes,
Time to wear those autumn clothes.
More for winter, less for spring,
Until the summer comes again.

Paul

Out of sight and out of reach,
Where is this large, deserted beach?
Beyond the moon and sun's rays,
Travelling fast for many days.

What do we see beneath the sands,
10 warty fingers, looks like hands.
It writhes, it squirms, until it's tall,
An alien, let's call it Paul.

I learn the language, bibble gork,
To my surprise, with Paul I talk.
He lived on planet Fauks for 2000 years,
Has never argued, no need for tears.

It's time to leave and come back home,
I said to Paul, come please be my gnome.
"Gibbit, gibbit, gibbit," he says,
"This is where Paul does stays".

So if you look far out at night,
Look carefully and you will sight,
My friend alone, we've called him Paul,
Awaiting you to make a call.

Two years on I had that call,
From my lost friend that I called Paul.
He said in words most clear to see,
He'd like to spend his life with me.

Although quite touched as one would be,
I was open clear for all to see,
No longer living on my own,
Another alien was now my gnome.

Forgive me Paul, I could not wait,
I was getting into quite a state,
The garden pond was looking bare,
Without a garden figure there.

Own Goals

Aim high
Don't cry
If you fail to reach the sky
Set your sights
On your heights
No caution heed
You will succeed.

An Ideal Cat

Felix, Tom, Boss cat too
Our feline friends, not in a zoo.
Cartoons flicker across our eyes,
Long lost pussy's in the skies.

Tommy and Lucy, 13years on,
Slower but still going strong.
Lucy black, still likes to play,
Though lazily lounges throughout the day.

If I could, I'd have a cat,
That wore a monocle and a top hat.
It'd ride a bike, along our road,
Stay fit and youthful, never old.

New Beginnings

Work done,
Journey ends,
It's time for me to make amends.
Crazy thoughts that force fed frown,
Have only led to being down.
No one, nothing, really there,
I came to think you didn't care.
I spoke, you heard, you saw my stare,
You saved me, proved for me you're there.
There's part of me I do not like,
How come you've never taken hike.
I now see the way I've been,
Today I'm more than very keen,
To be out there, chilled, far more light,
I hope this can make our future right.
