John Allen Poem
Hyacinth and juniper
adorned in midmorning dew
alight the fields and meadow fair
as the dawn shimmers from you
Nature weeps with boundless joy
as the sun greets you with its morn
for you are as beautiful as the morning sky
from God's good grace you had to be born
No twinkling star up in heaven cries
as much for you as do I
to be near you would be such bliss
that angels would shudder and sigh
O' of all the gifts that are thrust upon this world
none so pure and delicate can be
as such pure and delicate as she
for you are my light and my world

John Allen Poem
I would give you everything were I am able
nothing broken and always stable
I would give you anything, anything
just for that smile you bring
Here it is, my heart laid out upon the table
I would never let you down
never would I see you wear a frown
I would be your laughter
and happily forever after
we would be safe and sound
People may change like the weather
and for you I will try to be better
just show me the smile you bring
and I will have everything, everything
that makes it into our love letter
Sometime I will be more clever
and then I will hurt you never
Your tears will fade
and we'll have it made
We will make it together, always better

John Allen Poem
She walks in whispers and leaves in mystery
hear her call but I must resist temptation
her ivory voice of silk and compassion
leaves me staggered in contemplation
oh to be with her so safe and warm
tanned lace and honey milk in her touch
i dream of her this lonely desert night
and wonder if she feels as much
i found her in the pale moonlit glow
of a caravan under sandy sky
i found her there with beauty in her smile
kissing me with a tempered sigh
she is just a fleeting dream
born of wind and saffron
just a vague memory
one i can reflect on
i wish she was with me all these years
to help me with these falling tears
but she is not, just a flickering flame
one that can never be had or ever tamed
she walks like a gypsy
in at dusk and out at dawn
the fairest vision ever seen by me
and forever out of reach beyond

John Allen Poem
A tear in an hourglass
so slowly it falls
a sorrow for every dream
that lay shattered against the wall.
So fragile is such a thing
that withers in part
what sadness she brings
in broken heart
Doth do we cringe
bent on broken knee
wounded in love
wounded by thee
Dulled is the sword
that had swung with such force
splintered is the shield
but the heart injured worse
All heroes are slain
killed in passionate war
every heart breaks
to love nevermore

John Allen Poem
I felt you that night
more clearly than any wound
the tears i bled
from the things we said
it made even the angels swoon
i felt inside something not there
something about you didn't seem to care
have i failed you once too many times
is that why i am unforgiven of these unsaid crimes
i felt like i never had before
and for that i am so sorry
i didn't mean to make you feel something
i tell you i'll be fine, so don't worry
it was just a half finished song i wanted to sing
but days go by and dreams die
devils can sigh and lifeless things cry
i never meant to hurt myself
i never meant to lie
i walked away from you
so you wouldn't know why
i loved and felt things not meant to be had
stories don't end this way, they aren't supposed to be sad
half felt and half undone
i'm afraid the sad story has only yet begun

John Allen Poem
This touch from you
from beyond the blue
sings me to sleep every night
i hear its true
that what you do
has earned you that heavenly right
You touch me here
softly in my ear
and I know that you are there
From beyond the blue
I long to be with you
and let you know i care
Whisper why's
in sweet lullabies
and the answer will be yours
Tender angel in my head
laying me down in our bed
from where the angel soars

John Allen Poem
Hush down like fallen leaves
quiet whispers passing through these eaves
I dare not know what passes by
in the night when all is silent but tearful sigh
Silence from a dew-tipped morn
the passing night still lingers to mourn
but even as the fading moon does die
I still whisper to her under faint sigh
What was then is nothing more
out went love after passionate chore
though I see her still at night
a sigh is all I heave at love's first sight

John Allen Poem
oceans dry away, away
and night comes to swallow the day
so to do dreams fade away, away
and become fables that old men would say

John Allen Poem
Born of midnight and mist
of lilac and violet kissed
she is my dark angel bliss
Dressed in nothing, wrapped in dream
fantasy drenched in midnight steam
she was my everthing

John Allen Poem
Splendid rapture
blinding bliss
so much more
and all of this
I find in you
and in your kiss
A better place
and a better time
we would be together
in both love and rhyme
With these things there's no tellin
where we will be
when the sun comes up in mornin
i hope you'll be with me
When the march into Winter
holds me down
I'll look back on you
and know where I'd be found
I mean, when I get tired
of all of this mess
I'll walk on through December
and come out blessed
Because of your image
a picture blazing in my dreams
for just another glimpse
I'd give up so many things
my life before you was empty
but i'm ready for whatever the future brings
I'll stay down here forever
down among the leaves
waiting for you to come back
to part these lonely seas
I'll even wait forever
so don't forget about me please
Even the stars falling from the sky
they can't carry me behind
I'll hold my ground, I'll be there when
you come back to me
and I'll still love you then
even if it's not for good
I would stay forever as your friend
