Hate 101

HATE 101
Hate is a monster that devours a soul
It feeds on your love, eating all of it whole
Hate is a thought, a concept that’s real
It is stored in the mind until actions reveal
Hate is a language which when spoken to you
Will change your behavior in all that you do
Hate is a voice of the darkness within
It loves only things that propel us to sin
Hate is an expression of a feeling towards some
It appears without warning but from where does it come
Hate is a parasite that kills all in its path
It changes one’s life, once they’re plagued by its wrath
Hate is your neighbor who says hello each day
It can hide in plain sight; it is cunning that way
Hate is a dictator that influences one’s actions
It dwells on the chaos brought forth from reactions
Hate is a color, a race or a culture
It pecks at your heart like the beak of a vulture
Hate is a demon that possesses without bias
It seeks out the cracks within those who are pious
Hate is the knowledge of our differences, unwelcomed
It never strays far from behaviors, accustomed
Hate is a drug that for some will inspire
It will suck out your joy like a thirsty vampire
Hate is infectious and spreads like wild flower
It should never be allowed to control and overpower

This Land of the Free

THIS LAND OF THE FREE

This land of the free, I wouldn’t call her by name
She’s a bully at heart and she carries no shame
This land of the free, where all men should be one
Where excuses are made for one’s use of a gun
This land of the free brings you down to your knees
She releases her evil with poise and such ease
This land of the free harbors malice and hate
For some there is hope and for some it’s too late
This land of the free hides her wrongs in plain sight
With her laws held in hand, she will always be right
This land of the free sends a message to some
That her reach is far wide and there’s nowhere to run
This land of the free where equality roams
In the minds of the men who pay rent for their homes
This land of the free that aspires for gold
To be right for her club, just be men and be old
This land of the free tries to rescue all souls
But her people oppose and it shows in the polls
This land of the free keeps her eyes on that man
She imprisons him daily, giving life when she can
This land of the free has no lid for her mouth
She gave freedom of speech so her children could shout
This land of the free where big eagle wings fly
As high as those dreams sitting way in the sky
This land of the free sets her focus to win
She will punish her child with no proof of a sin
This land of the free where one’s beauty won’t fade
She made friendships with knives and new faces were made
This land of the free with her sun, rain and snow
Has delivered a punch that’s sent many below
This land of the free where the dollar is king
Some say freedom was gained by those necks in a sling
This land of the free is resilient and strong
She had many past leaders yet none wore a crown
This land of the free, will bring riches and fame
She stands tall in the sky holding on to her flame
This land of the free shines a beacon of hope
Come one or come all if you think you can cope

Beware the Beast

The mark of the beast is said to have sixes
He'll preach to the world that he brings with him, fixes
Evil is he, with a tongue that spits fire
Burning a path towards that which is higher

Charming, old fellow and he'll smile to our faces
His aim should be clear, to get into good graces
Children of god may become his believers
But then they will learn, he's like other deceivers

Hands will go up as men offer him praises
But all who appose will be scorched by his phrases
Quickly, they'll come, where he leads they will follow
But no more they'll cheer when his actions bring sorry

Nothing on earth will compare to his pride
His words, when delivered will cause a divide
Poisonous snake with pure hate to the core
Before he can win, we will show him the door

He'll bask in his joy for as long as he can
Then away to that place where his journey began
Sound the alarm with the use of all voices
For the sake of our lives, let us make the right choices
