Amanda Shelton Poem
Mango colored skies,
kisses away
the nightly breath
of the evenings sigh.
Sugary sprinkles scatter into the sky,
as the stars begin to rise and fall.
Tonight I will learn to fly,
like a star my soul will zoom on by.

Amanda Shelton Poem
Mornings light beams,
in fragments gleam
on the surface
of the dark liquid
inside my mug.
This is where the sun lives,
it blooms within a coffee bean.
When it touches my tongue,
it engulfs my soul
with its golden beam.
Slowly I become free
from my dreams.

Amanda Shelton Poem
Be still my beating heart,
leave no empty spaces in between us.
We like the flowers in spring
bloom and grow,
although winter always freezes our nook,
before her prance
slowly fall brings her gowns of color
to blanket our land with beautiful
auburns and browns.

Amanda Shelton Poem
With cold tears
that stain my cheeks,
a kiss from sadness
turned them into lost dreams.
As I am lost,
walking these halls
of forgotten memories.
I became like the rose
on a winter’s day,
I froze.
With sadness as my friend,
he sat and cried with me.
Sadness was there
when no one cared for me.
