Dear Lord

Dear Lord

You make the darkness bright dear Lord
You chase away the night, dear Lord

With you I know that I can soar
Above the mountain’s height, dear Lord

I have no fear when you are there
My life you expedite,* dear Lord

You raise me up, you comfort me
You show me what is right, dear Lord

You are my strength and my succour
You’re with me in my plight dear Lord

My sins I beg that you’ll forgive,
When I stand in Thy sight dear Lord

*make easier

It

It.

It rode the wind that swept the vale.
It scaled the mountains high.
It conquered everything it saw,
cruel raider from the sky.

The screaming hordes before it fell
their bodies torn and crushed.
It tossed aside the remnant flesh
from which all life had gushed.

It crossed the plains from east to west
It passed from north to south.
Cold scorn surged out before it as
the spite spewed from its mouth.

A devastating trail of death
All hope of salvage gone.
The elements in all their rage
ensured the war was won.

Indomitable spirit. Man
has always faced his plight.
Whatever nature hurls at him
He'll turn around and fight.

Man will not be crushed underfoot
or trampled down to dirt.
In time he'll resurrect his world.
The years will heal the hurt.

Broken Up

Broken up.

How can I say what feelings stir my soul?
How to describe the emptiness inside?
Love with its mixture of the bittersweet
Caused my sore heart to falter then it died.

I needed more than you were free to give.
I knew that it was bound to end in tears.
So, better lonely now while I have strength
Than face it with the passing of the years.

Forever will my heart remember you.
The love I gave you I cannot revoke.
You brought to me such happiness and joy.
The woman that was in me, you awoke.

And now my world is filled with dark despair
It stretches ever forward into time.
I’m left with only half a life because
I know that you will never become mine.

For all time you will hold a piece of me.
The memories remain within my mind.
Forgive me for the hurt I may have caused,
I truly never meant to be unkind.

If you should ever chance to think of me
Then maybe you will find in a small part
The strength to pardon me for all my sins
As I do you, because, you broke my heart.
