A Cold, Cold Fire

These wounds burst open
A stitch could not hold
A frostbitten tongue
Left in the cold.

I wish I could speak
But friend I’m afraid
I am still quite weak.

You came and you went
Never rebuffing
On the time we have spent.

I, with nothing to say.
For the fires gone out
Forever be it may.

This tongue appear thawed
Finally free, my fortunes now rest
In the warm hands of god.

The fire is out
In more ways than one
A new foundation emerges about.

Now, all over again
I must gather the sticks
And let the blaze begin.

You, Me, and the Sea

Things are changing
As the deep sea between us widens
You say that you care
And we are closer than ever before
But words can drown
Like sorrows over time

Once a time
We were together everyday
Now I beg you just to stay
What happened to our treasure?
Did the sea wash it away?
Or is just deeper?
Down further we must swim
Or maybe find a shore
We can rest upon together
The tides may be rough
Hard we must try
To live through the night.
But after the storm
Comes that glorious day
When the sea becomes calm.
Though it may become wider
Swim to you I will

Long Lonely Nights

The nights are hardest
As I lie alone in silence
No sounds to be heard
But my own lonely heartbeat
No one to be seen
But my own dejected reflection
The only sight of dawn
Lie not in my hands
Daybreak, lies far away
In his own bed
Independently shelving my day
For he knows I cannot live in darkness
I cannot live in silence
I cannot live without him
Yet he delays his return
In all attempts to defeat my desire
To put out the spark
My only hope in the wintry night
I guess it's my own fault
I’ve driven away my only chance for day
All I have now
Is the slight hope that the silence will break
By an unforeseen knock at my door
Daybreak easing in
Filling my life
Ending my long, lonely night.

If

If time could capture
The span of my love
If words could tell you
What my heart is saying
If my dreams could fight
The weight of the world
If my face could reveal
The veracity of my compassion
If ever we could stop saying if
My heart would speak
The span of my love
To fight for my dreams
Of a truly devoted heart.

Today I Found a Song In the Strangest of Places

Today I found a Song
In the strangest of places

Through gates of the garden
Of fret and woe
Lay a bed of unbloomed roses
In the shadows of a forest
Of qualified blooms

Yet unbloomed
These roses bear beauty
Straight from the root
no eyes could see
Needing not be guided
By compliments and awe
For before the blossom
The glory
And the fame
Beneath the fragile petals
The roses get their name

For I was once
An unbloomed rose
A young petal
Among splendor blossoms
Now as I have flowered
I know not by color
Or scent
Or fame
Does beauty be told.
It is the song it sings
That in turn
Makes it grow.

Untamed Angels

Beautiful people
Surround me
Inspiring eyes
Instill me
Eluding desires
Distress me
You tender much more
Than you know
It perplexes me
Untamed angels
Carry you
Rousing me
Peaceful beings
You restore me.

Tomorrow

Recurring transitions
A world unknown
Awakening eye
A new design

One more step

Struggles and growth
A new mans depth
Constant cycle
Occurrence with time

One more breath

Mystery in life
God knows best
A change of season
A change of mind

One more day

Tomorrow.

Is This Goodbye Forever?

Is this goodbye forever?
Soon you’ll set off on your new endeavor
And I will be here
Sitting and waiting
For the day you’ll come home
But don’t worry about me baby
Ill be fine.

I try to tell myself that this is good for you
And I know it is
But I feel left out
Pushed to the side
I can’t help but feel this way

The days are long
The nights drag on
One day
Then two
I don’t see you

I remain faithful
As I hope you do
I create my calendar
Solemnly around you
Waiting for the day
You will want to be with me
No one else
Just me

Don’t worry
I see your efforts
Sometimes I just don’t feel them
Yet I know
If this is meant to be
Indeed it will

So I will rest
Upon that thought
Upon your beauty
And your word

So if this is goodbye forever
It is now me
Who shall set off on her new endeavor.

A Friend Indeed

:dedicated to J Rink:

A true friend
Is hard to come by
It doesn’t takes years
But it does take time
I got to know you
And I’m glad I did
You are amazing.

You are real
You are genuine
Inside and out
Myself with you
I can be
It means so much to me
Goofy insane
Is what I am
Goofy insane
Is what you see.

Thank you is what I want to do
For showing me
That I can be me
And still be cherished by you.

I hope I have changed your life
In one way or two
Please know
I will remember you.

Why Do I Wait For Your Call?

Why do I wait for your call?
I don’t answer,
It’s just pleasing to know you’re thinking of me.
Though I know
It’s not of love.

Why do I so desire your thought?
Am I insecure?
Do I need this attention?
No I am better than that.
Is it a crush?
Is it a lost cause?

Why don’t you want me, how I want to be wanted?
Do I even want to be wanted by you?
Or do I just want to be wanted?
Or do I want to be loved?

Yes I want to be loved.
